Me and my friends have been recently playing with hondata programs. We can write ECU programs and burn chips for them. They are flawless. and a hell of alot cheaper then paying for genuine hondata products...but what is there for nissan? I am the only person that owns a nissan. Oh yeah I am planning a sr20 red top swap, so thats the ECU I would be wanting to use. :newbie:

my friend scott at secret services does the same thing with redtop ecu's. Changes the program then burns them to a chip and has the ecu socketed to accept them. I have heard there are a lot of shops that do this for nissans as well.

Dog named Trogdor? That's Scott's beast.. err.. 539rwhp sr-240. I won't say anymore on that.. but it'll be news when it's unleased as Trogdor V.2.
Hey Jay. Scott can now tune KA ecus, and they have a harness to adapt a s13 ecu to run a s14. Bet you wish you had that KA-T now! Think of it. More timing than JWT, dyno-tuned A/F ratios... mmmm.
If it wasn't around $1k for the harness, ecu, z32 maf, and rom-tune, I'd be all over it.

IIRC, Phase2Motortrend also offers a rom tune service called Inner circle for like $499.95 for stages one or two. Jim Wolf offers this same service of rom tuning, and they have been doing it for a long time. JWT back in the day asked Nissan for ecu programs and break codes, but nissan denied. So Jim wolf broke the codes by hackin through the ecu's overtime, and now mkae very succesful ecu tune's for sr20's KA(T)'s, etc. I would go with Jim WOlf Technologies because they have repore and experience with Nissan. Email me if you have questions about JWT rom tuning, Email (

My friend who hangs around over at sr20forum.com is making his own ROM programer. He already has the HEX editing software, and the nissan consolt cable so he can recieve datastream on his laptop. And he has the board to save the info to the ROM chips. Ill let you guys know how its going in a few weeks. He just sold his sr20det bb, and just ordered a sr20ve. He is going to do all his own tuning. Between making his own roms, and his e-manage im sure we can get his ve running mint.

we have the hex editor and can burn chips, he has nice rewritable ones so we can tweak without making it permanent : ) He said he had looked into it, but everything was in japanese nothing translated on how to do it...so he sorta just went wtih hondata and mastered it. I've heard of this jim wolfe guy too. Anyone hear of st00pid tuning? and cheese frog? They do wonders with hondas, wonder if they do nissans
