sway bar links or TC rod bushings in the front

Could be a caliper...the guides could be shot and that will cause such a noise.

Where are the caliper guides, and what is the best way to fix them? I am also haveing a similar problem.

check the CV joint bearings too, the rings inside might be cracked and make popping sounds under the pressure of hard braking.

damnit jeff what the hell are you talking about cv joint bearings? he is talking about the front. did you miss read?

anyways i have the same problem. i was thinking it might just be the firewall flexing during hard braking. i have nothing to back this up though.

have you came up with any ideas? from articles i've read in GM, it is not an un-common problem. it could be, it couldnt. i have not done enough research on it to really say if it is or not. thats all im saying.

Somebody asked the same question on FA and it was recommended to check the bolts holding the T/C rod brackets on.
I also have this, in the passenger front, but haven't pinpointed it yet...
