im in the process of doing a rebuilt and i want to keep the bottom end stock. will acl bearings work with stock rods or should i just get oem bearings. a simple yes or no will be just fine

I'm in the process of rebuilding my SR block because of a slight rod knock.
I went with OEM because they offer different and correct grades specifically for the crank and the block. I also went OEM because I had to get another crank...
If you don't know yet, here are tips for reading correct grades main/rod bearings.
Under the block, rear drivers side (Upper oil pan removed), you will see 5 numbers..
On the crankshaft, you will see 5 numbers, and under it 4 numbers.
If the block numbers are;
12112
and crank numbers are;
12134
You simply just add the block and crank numbers, so you will need grades 2,4,2,4,6 for your main bearings. If both your crankshaft, main caps, and connecting rod, rod caps, and the block surface is perfectly fine, OEM is the best way to go since they offer the precise oil clearance when you use the right grades.
The 4 numbers on the crank are grades for your rod bearings.
Looks like you got some research to do Mr. =p

Yes they work, I would prefer oem as you can choose among many grades for same bearing size.

Yeah I went ahead and added the numbers together I got 33232 for the main and the rods are 1111. My crank is perfectly fine so there's no need to run bigger. But when I go to order on frsports them I don't see the numbers I'm looking for. Thanks for the help

Contact the sales email at frsport and theyll set you up, probably take a few bucks off too. Acl race bearings are usually backordered, took me 4 weeks to get mine

FRsport have them in stock. Look up "Nissan Genuine Rod Bearing SR20"
and or "Nissan Genuine Main Bearing SR20"
and all grades should pop up.
Don't make the same mistake I made buying only (4) rod bearings. They are sold seperately, and 4 rod bearings will only cover 2 connecting rods. Buy (8) pcs of grade 1. For Main bearings, they come with pairs.
