Did you cut your brown wire? Push the button that the brown wire is cut from and turn your lights on then off, they'll stay up.

He is in Australia. That means that his Silvia is actually a Silvia, and might not have been wired including the movment wire.

To the OP, sorry i cant be any help. i ditched my pop ups because i think they are ugly and i didnt want to bother with them breaking. i know there are aftermarket controllers that you can get that will give you control over the height adjustment. you would just have to be slightly creative with wiring it in.

Look at the FSM for a 240sx in the head light section. Get all the relays and the head light switch. Wire it up accordingly.

Must be your first car with pop ups. Not trying to talk shit but all pop up lights on just about most every car that has them (Not just 240) uses a motor that can be adjusted by hand AFTER you unplug the motors.

Damn there's some idiots on here. A real Silvia never had the button to control popup motors (the one on the bezel surrounding the steering wheel). If you convert a Silvia to one-via, you have to add at least one relay to control the motors, as well as the tcu (time control unit)

Now, to the op, I would remove the motors entirely and just build a fixed length rod to permanently hold the headlight buckets up in place.

1) without any motors: I took a L shaped bracket, bent it up, and bolted it to a point on the headlight and a point on the headlight bracket in order to keep the headlight up.

I tried switching to this, but the headlights were really bouncy, went back to the brackets.
