hey zilvia, first time posting so be nice!
so my '90 s13 hatch (ka24e) is refusing to start for whatever reason. i've been searching forums and found some different answer but am posting this thread to see if there is something i'm missing?
the car cranks when i turning the key but wont start. i checked to see if im getting a spark, and i am. i just replaced the plugs and wires as well. i pulled the new plugs after trying to crank it and there was obviously gas on them. not sure if there is too much? dizzy is in the correct position and wires are in the correct. i checked my ecu to see if i have any codes (ecu showed error #12 which is MAF sensor) i cleaned the MAF with MAF cleaner, still nothing. I would also like to mention that the hose coming from the EGR is not connected to the airbox, i don't really think that's affecting it though. any recommendations on what else i could try? i miss my baby :wtc:
glad to be on zilvia!

Having same issue right now. Have you checked your fuel pump fuse? Do you hear it humm when you turn the key to the 'ON' position?

Yeah i did. fuel pump fuse is still good and I do hear the buzzing of the pump when the key is in the ON position.

I just solved my problem, maybe you can try this. I was putting brand new fuses in the fuel pump fuse socket, and it kept blowing them. I went to autozone and picked up an EGI Pump relay and put that in along with a brand new fuel pump fuse. I also got some spray contact cleaner and sprayed the shit out of my fuel pump harness connector (located in the trunk, underneath your trunk mat) because it had alot of white gooky stuff building up. Sprayed that, put in new relay and fuse, started her up, been running for 30 minutes now. No blown fuaes.
Worth a try.

im thinking since the car overheat right before it stopped running, the head gasket may have blown or the head itself may be warped. ill do a compression test and post the results on here. if compression is good ill check my timing. wish me luck!

Vacuum leaks?

Zombiewolf, There's a vacuum line missing that goes from the top of the intake manifold to somewhere below it. I dont really think is causing the car to not start though?

If you've got spark then check these out.
1. Are your injectors firing?
2. Is your dizzy rotor pointing at cylinder 1 at tdc on compression stroke?
3. Are you getting good compression on all 4?
4. How great do your spark plugs look? Are they gapped properly?
Typical things i look for when i get a no start and i think i have fuel and spark. I hate this stuff. Happens all the time with some cars i work on. Troubleshooting lists are awesome for this. Good luck!

Nopistons!, yeah I check all the same except the compression test which I just did. Only have 60psi on cyl #1 and the rest have no compression whatsoever. I changed the spark plugs a few weeks ago and now they're black. I'm assuming my rings are bad..

Have someone crank the engine while you spray starting fuild into the air intake. Make sure you don't spray to much at one time or you will vapor lock the engine. If you do spray to much don't worry, wait a while and let the starting fuild vapor get out of the system then try again. If it runs it could be your fuel pump or the fuel filter. Good luck man

No compression on all cylinders except one=headgasket
