ok ive been hearing the whole "91 cams give you more hp" issue for quite some time ... i wanna try it for myself .... but first , is there any modification at all to put 91 cams into a 95 ka ? or do they just bolt right in ?

no mods, they just bolt right in. but remember which 91 cam is intake and which is exhaust because the color bands changed from year to year so that isn't a good reference. I know because i swithced em up when i first put mine in and it didn't run so pretty good.

i heard that you have to replace the shims too if you're swapping em...
I have a 91 cams and i have a 95 KA in my S13 too right now...
i've been thinking about swapping the cams but im not sure what else I will need yet..

^^^^

I didn't have to. So it must depend on the motor.......

so you didnt have to then huh? tight , any dyno runs or , did you at least notice any pull in the high end compared to the old cams ?

i think all the cams are to a spec, and the shims compensate for the head? cause jwt cams are drop in, and others are drop in, so id guess u dont need to re shim, just check and make sure though

Nissans's use shims to adjust valve clearance

Yea, it was a good gain. No dyno, i'm too poor. However, my ass dyno says it felt like a bigger gain than my intake, so that was cool. I would DEFINATELY do it if you have the cams/$. I didn't notice any low end loss either. However simply the specs on the cams would say that i would lose a little low end so that's probably just wishful thinking....... my mind possibly playing tricks on me. who knows.
