Figured it was time I shared my build with the Nissan community despite the chassis being a Toyota.
The car is a 1975 Toyota Celica. I picked her up February 2011 as an all original 65k mile car then the work began.
As I bought her:

IA Fall 2011:
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m78/bdpolston/388551_10150945643860506_502730505_21598473_163957 8521_n.jpg
At this point she had the following mods:
T3 Coilovers
T3 Front Camber Plates
T3 Lateral / Panhard Bar
T3 Rear 4 Links
T3 Front Tension Rods
T3 Roll Center Adjuster
T3 Front Lower Control Arms
New OEM AE86 hubs, bearings, and Caliper brackets
Wilwood AE86 Big Brake Kit
RBR 16x8 +10 wheels
KDW Tires

But this was just the beginning.........
After IA Fall 2011 The tear down began. After a lot of struggles throughout 2012 with unreliable fabricators I finally got everything put in motion this year. The Celica left February 6th for a full restoration a long with a ton of custom metal fab.
Chase Bays is taking on the task of all the standalone engine wiring. Those guys rock!
Car Fully stripped:

Here are all of the new parts as they came in:
S15 Swap and a Brand New built S13 Trans (Not yet cleaned up):

This is the new custom engine cradle, Radiator and steering column made for the car:

Thanks everyone!
A few things I forgot. During the restoration I also had the rocker panel trim, and door mirrors shaved since it now has fender mirrors. The trunk is also shaved removing the spare tire. Tubing was added between the frame rails to stiffen things up.

If you look at the firewall and notice no brakes that is because I went with a Wilwood Reverse mount Pedal Box that's mounted on the interior.

Was hard tracking it all down. Most of it was NOS that was left on shelves in Japan. Took about 2 month for it all to show up. The mirrors were a whole other ordeal. They went out of production last year in Japan and this is one of the last 15 sets in the world I was able to get at a hefty price from ToySport in Cali.
Sick setup! Props to an IA tuner!

Well, after a long wait the 75 should finally be back under the knife by tomorrow. Getting the engine mounted, all the custom brackets made, fuel system installed, and hopefully still have room for the rear end to get assembled.
Can't promise at this point if she will be back on the road quite yet but she will for sure have a lot more progress. Still a long ways until she is finished including interior and the new wheel setup.
Expect more updates soon on the website.

Back to work!!! » (http://the75celica.com/back-work/)
Well after a long Summer its finally time to get back to work on the car!
Dropped her off yesterday at Deft Motion to get the engine and transmission brackets made. Will also be fabricating the trans tunnel to accommodate the new shifter position. Ordered a Spec Stage 2 Clutch and Billet Flywheel to be installed along with all new oem clutch release parts. Once the engine is permanently mounted I will start the wiring install. Fuel System will be installed next. Went with the Aeromotive stealth 15g fuel cell with a 340lph pump. The rear end I hope to have completed next, and then it will be installed so I can get the measurements for the driveshaft and finish up the brake lines.
Only thing I may be lacking at this moment is the new turbo setup. Still undecided. After engine is in and fitment is worked out I will make the order so I can get her fired up.
Only other things lacking to complete the car will be getting all the gauges, wiring the lights and column, finishing the interior, and the final exterior assembly.

Why'd you delete the spare? I'da made it full size... Having an awesome car doesn't make you immune to flats, or how much it sucks to be stuck.
For Three reasons.
One: The spare tire well hung below the car so much it looked ugly.
Two: It was rusted out.
Three: That's where the fuel cell will be mounted so I wanted a nice flat surface.
If I take a road trip I will still have a spare. Probably packed in the rear seat but it's possible it will still fit in the trunk. We will see.

There has been a big development with the car this last week.
I had sent the car out to Deft Motion to have the engine mounted in the car. It was very disappointing to find that the engine was not going to fit without the firewall being heavily modified. I have put so much hard work into this car, just to cut it up and modify everything again was not an option for me. I figured it was time for some drastic changes.
I have decided the car has been down way too long. To avoid any more disappointment I have decided to stick with the stock 20R Drivetrain and enjoy the car for what it it and what it stands for. Means everything to me and the only other option was to let it go. The good news however is that the 20R going in the car is no plain old used 20R. Going with a Brand New Toyota 22r so there are no issues and everything is as mint as the rest of the car. Dual Weber side drafts, a W50 trans, and "maybe" high comp pistons, and a cam should be nice also. Even better news is that it will all bolt right up.
Time to get this car back to its roots and back out on the road.
Today the car also received a good final buff and polish so the exterior will not start being assembled here. Here is a pic. Enjoy!

I just picked up tonight a Vintage 18RG. Been sitting in storage over 22years. Will be costly and for sure needs a rebuild but is a perfect swap for my car. Even better news is that it will all bolt right up so no chassis modifications.

Getting quite a collection of used 18RG parts. Hope to be making my order for the remainder of the new 18RG parts needed on Monday. Pistons, bearings, gaskets, etc. then it's off to the machine shop!
Clutch came in today also. Spec only made a Billet Aluminum flywheel for the 18RG so I had to spend an extra $100 over a steel. Oh well.
Even better news is I finally sold the SR and almost everything that went with it. Finally getting some garage space back!

The carbs are the originals off my 18RG. Everything else is extras for now. Not selling anything until I have a running motor though if that's what your hinting towards.
Nope, just curious :)... did a little research on this motor, i see now why you're so amped up about it... all the potential of the sr20, but in a package that's native to the car

Wonderful!
- what is the size of that Griffin?,
looks like perfect solution for custom mid-mount intercooler setup in s13.
Do you think it will be enough to cool your motor?

Havent measured it so I dont know off the top of my head. It will be plenty for my motor. Had it custom made by Cary Miller out it California. The same radiator is in his celica chassis running a 2JZ and one with a LS1.

Wow
an actual build for a change. You know, one that is taking time, effort and money. One that actually makes me happy and say positive things, like: this is a really nice project.
Am I still on Zilvia?
