ball joint

so i was putting on my new control arms, and i when i was finishing up, putting the last nut onto the balljoint, the nut doesnt go down any further, still have half an inch to go, so i take off the nut and i take a look at the bolt to see that its been stripped towards the top...now do i hafta replace the whole ball joint or can i just swap that bolt out somehow

just figure out the thread size and pitch then get a die for it or take it somewhere and have them do it

You should be able to get another bolt, but the whole thing is like $20 each. Just go get a new one for each side. Beck Arnley is the same thing as Moog, as is another brand I can't remember. Don't forget a grease gun to lube them up after install (before driving).

thanks for the advice, i just ended up buying new control arms from pdm - its time to redo the suspension guts anyway
