Here's an interesting auction http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=2474684593&category=6396
This S14 Silvia appears to be legally registered in USA. At least it looks like a Silvia. Its RHD, has the correct front bumper and badges. They don't show enough to confirm SR20DET. This is too good to be true. I'm not aware of any changes to import laws that could allow this to happpen. If so, we could get our SR20DETs legallized. I would ask the seller some questions, but I have no intent to buy. There is a zero feedback bidder who also appears skeptical. His name is pleasepassthepipe.

there is no way possible that it's truely street legal. Anyone who buys that car is getting themselves into a legal mess they could never imagine. Swapped VIN's anyone???

it doesnt have swaped vins it has a a us vin for an imported RHD car and a control number which he listed on the auction you can only get those from the DOT you can actually call the DOT and give them those numbers and they will tell you the car is legit. , id say 100 percent legit.

Just because a car has a title doesnt mean its legal. Illegal cars have obtained valid US titles many many many times.

Its all fun and games till a US customs agent knocks on your door.

There has been some drama with that guy on NICO before. I have never dealt with him before so I wont talk about him negatively but, if he can actually legalize that car he's my new hero and I will contact him to figure out how to legalize my SR.

I may follow up on this one....

Don't even bother, dude. He will tell you what you want to hear, whether it's true or not.

Here it is. He relisted. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=2474859292&category=6396

It's now a private auction. I wonder if plaesepassthepipe is still bidding. He shows the SR20DET, and explains more about the title. I'm thinking it may be registered as a show car or something. I still don't think it can be a legal street car. It would be a great parts car. If someone had the title to a white 240SX would it be possible to swap the dash, VIN, and LHD parts to the Silvia and keep it registered as the 240SX?

Swapping VINs is illegal.
