Notice regular halogen lights are sorta dull yellow and bland looking. Now look at the headlights of a new Lexus or any other top end luxury car like BMW or Mercedes. They've got HID lighting systems which shine out much brigher, wider, and cleaner looking. Some are just bright white, some are bright yellow (with some HID systems), and some have a bluish tint in them. They're not just for looks, they're also helpful for your own safety since they light up the road so well.

High Intensity Dischage lights are about 400-600$ depending on where you get them. You can put them on your car since alot of companies make aftermarket systems for cars with H4 or 9006 type bulbs. The bennifit of HIDs is that they are ALOT brighter and use about half the power as a normal bulb and last about 10x longer.

There is always the Philips HID kit which I can get a price on.

1)  Pour yourself a cup of coffee and get comfortable
2)  Click and read:  http://clearcorners.com/services/
3)  Dont retrofit a stock headlight with HID, its against the law if your car is a daily driver.

I recently retrofitted my Eclipse with HID and will not go back to a halogen.I haven't been ticketed yet and not planning on it.It's only illegal if you get caught:)Most of you probably have lots of illegal mods on your cars so why care about lights.HIDs will let you see better, only use up 35watts of power(halogen is 55w or higher), and the bulbs last 2000 hours.

they're just bulbs that try to replicate the look, its really ony a gimmick...they're just really bright lightbulbs that give off a similar coloured light, but they're not nearly as bright, and easy to tell apart from the real thing

why is retrofitting hid kits to daily driver illegal? can't daily driven cars use brighter beams for safer driving?

Because most of the time an HID kit will produce unwanted light and blind oncomming traffic.H3 is one of the worst systems to retro as there is no shielding to reduce the glare.Remember HIDs are 10X brighter so what glare you get from a halogen will be multiplied ten fold. Also any modification you do to your headlight system is technically illegal. If it didn't come OEM, it's illegal.
