Okay, I've printed out all the posts about 5-speed swaps and I've went to Nissan and got a price wuote for the parts I can't find at the junk yards.

So now I need someone to set this straight, which parts are exchangeable from the auto tranny setup to the manual tranny setup.

For example, can I reuse my lower shift boot and plate? Does an auto even have that boot and plate? As far as wiring, Speed sensors are different right?

The lower boot consists of three parts from the exploded page I got from Nissan, which pieces do I already have in my car?

Also as far as s13 to s14, it seems alot of guys always post for s13 tranny swaps and leave out us s14 drivers. Which parts can I use from one model to the other? Clutch pedal, Clutch MC & slave, Clutch hydro lines, driveshaft.

I have a 95 tranny, s13 clutch & brake pedal, s13 clutch MC, Slave, & hydro lines.

Anyone please clear this up, thanks guys.

next time I talk to west I have to ask him whatever happened to my auto to 5 speed swa faq. It covered all the bases your asking about and it covered both cars. the auto does not use a lower shift boot and plate it uses a steel plate the goes over the hole, you have none of the lower pieces needed in your currently. the if you are doing a s14 swap then the speed sensor that is in your current trans i.e. the 95 speed you have will plug right in to the wire connector. you can use the s13 clutch pedal but its going to sit in a slightly different place than the s14 pedal will. the clutch master and slave are fine they are identical. the hydraulic line will work again its bent a little different but its perfectly useable. I would not put in the s13 brake pedal just cut your s14 auto pedal down to size.

Why can't I use the s13 brake pedal? It won't fit?

it will fit it just won't sit in exactly the correct position its supposed to . its bent slightly different angle wise and does not hang quite as low.

its also a bitch to work with. it can be done. but most people just cut it down to size as it will save time and cursing as you crush your kidneys and bang your head on the steering column. how can you not find parts. your in cali. sheit im in michigan and found most of them. too bad I forgot to get the MT shift stuff. hey do you know how much the dealer wants for those shift boot and plate parts.

Well here's the listings I have.

74966-35F00 - $43.69
74967-35F00 - $24.87
74960-35F00 - $41.19

:boink: Needless to say they rape you on the cost.
These are the 3 parts the diagram shows, the lower plate, the inner boot and the top plate that holds the inner boot down.

As far as being in Cali, the main reason it's so hard to find parts is cause EVERYONE that drives a 240 here has already raped the junk yards. And I don't have the resources or the time to keep calling junk yards everyday to see if they got in any wrecked ones. You know what really pisses me off, the jokers I see driving around in totally stock s14s and they don't even know what they have! Oh well, it's like those old people that buy an M5 or a SLK32AMG. And YOU drive faster than them!! It's sad.

Well I figured out that this whole tranny swap is gonna end up costing me about 1500 bucks!! I went with upgraded Flywheel, driveshaft, clutch kit, and rebuilt the tranny so I guess it's not too bad. I call it the tranny swap form hell!! It's gonna rock when it's done. :hsdance:
