Okay, I'm going to try and make this plain and simple. I'm swapping my s14 with an SR20, I'm kind of on a budget, but I'm a little lenient depending on what I might need. I'm trying to keep it under $2500, I'm getting the engine and ecu for $500, and ill need rods and Pistons, I was looking at just getting forced which I found Cp pistons and eagle rods together for around $800, I'd also need a wiring harness, which premade ones are around $300 because I can use my KA transmission harness with it. I might have to get a turbo manifold but I'm no sure. And I'll need an Intercooler and piping around $200.. Im thinking about upgrading the turbo maybe to a T28 or something...I'm really looking to get around or over 300whp, if that's accomplish able at my budget, any help or advice would be great, Tell me other things I need of I forgot,*anything helps ! Thanks for your time !

so many details left out..

300hp?

t28-300
turbo lines-120
fuel system-250
exhaust-200
injectors-300
fmic-400
wideband-165
ecu-400
dyno time-95 per hour? varies

those are just SOME supporting mods that you would need ON TOP of what it would take to build the engine. are you doing this? shop? this adds up VERY quickly. 2500 would get it running stock if your building it yourself with some left over money to see what happens. shop build? your going to need more money.

you seem to have forgot the cost of machining the engine block and all the gaskets/bearings/misc components that need to be changed while the engine is apart. Not to mention where you will keep all the parts that do not go to the machine shop while it is getting worked over. Not to mention paying somebody to assemble it, I doubt you are able to do that yourself if you "forgot" about the process of machining the engine block. Just for starters that is around $2500 of work and labor on the engine block by itself. JUST to get it built.

It takes at LEAST $2500 to get an OEM redtop (With 20-50k miles) off the shelf installed and running in any 240, thats doing all the labor including wiring yourself. Using the oem radiator, oem shroud, oem side mount, oem engine mounts, oem clutch, oem driveshaft, oem bolts and brackets. Remember there are belts to change, fluids to buy, you will need a new fuel pump, the a/c system will need to be welded up to work and charged with gas, radiator hoses, coolant lines in the back of the engine need to be taken care of (redtops, sheesh) and I am sure I am forgetting some things. like a downpipe. And you will get about 200-220 horsepower to the wheels off the T-25 like that if you wanted it to last for 50k more miles. Turning up the t-25 around 250 horsepower is asking for it fail much sooner.

Sell the engine and ecu. Use the money to fund a sr swap from a warehouse (make sure it has warranty). Send it to somebody that knows how to convert the harness( you can also look up "how to" on enjuku [google it])Buy some bolt ons tune it walboro fuel pump. MY 0.02 cents

here is a receipt from a machine shop. You will be in this neighborhood for assembly of an engine with forged internals. This includes R&R valve guides, and knife edged crankshaft. On the bright side, it will handle more than 300 horses, more like 500~

And here is an OEM Longblock REDTOP engine that I tuned with an AEM computer, top mount turbocharger producing 400 around 18psi
