Mark your calendars. Saturday June 26th, 2004.
Mile Square Park, Fountain Valley, CA.
11:30AM - 3:30PM
2000, we had 40 cars.
2001, we had 55 cars.
2002, we had 85 cars.
2003, we had 125 cars.
2004? We'll see, but if the Shine Street meet was any indication we can top 150 cars this year!
And we're not even counting the people in attendance!
More info will be posted as we get closer to the date of the meet.

why always fountain valley?
Why not? It's an annual BBQ and Mile Square Park is chosen b/c it requires admission to get in and is relatively secluded.
We've had meets up in SF Valley at Balboa Park, and several other venues, and frankly I do not like those places because it is not an enclosed area that has limited access. Plus at Mile Square Park I can reserve the location with the park rangers (who basically let us have our meet) and also can kick out those people that want to screw around.

haha.. there is always a "reserve a spot" that is always mentioned on the site, but pretty much it never holds up.
This will be my 3rd event!! Always cool. Anyways, anyone else wanna bring thier r/c cars? we can have a drift battle around some obsticles or something.

They actually kicked out all the MR2's and refunded the admission to them. The park rangers were being dicks

:eek3d: They actually kicked out all the MR2's and refunded the admission to them. The park rangers were being dicks
I spoke with the rangers last year and they said that they do encourage gatherings as long as the park knows about it in advance; you basically "reserve" the park with at least 30 days advance notice.
We were given a courtesy notice last year but we got lucky that we didnt get the boot by the end of the day...
As for why it was changed to Fontana... because DD17 was scheduled in advance for that day, and many of us already had registered for DD17 and could not back out of the event. Drift Association actually approached us and wanted to do a joint event... it was kind of a no-brainer since it would be about the same either way money-wise ($4 parking plus $5 food at MSP or $7 food at California Speedway), and at least at California Speedway you do not have to worry about police harassment.
But do keep in mind the same rules are in place; no speeding (limit is 5MPH) and no screwing around.
