Hello guys I thought I'd share my little build with you guys. I've had my s14 for about 5 years now and have had several times
when I felt like selling it. I finally made up my mind and decided to keep it. It's a 1995 SE model that came automatic. I did a
manual swap myself shortly after I got the car. Started getting upgrades here and there. blah blah blah not much of a typer so
i'm just going to post up pictures and go from there...
How it looked when I got it...

Installed new Godspeed Coilovers
http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae67/drftsc400/IMAG0309.jpg
Got the inner and outer tie rods from Wicked Tuning. Amazingly awesome! the have the spacer already machined into them.
I added an extra tein spacer and modified my spindles for extra angle
http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae67/drftsc400/IMAG0378-1.jpg
Took the engine apart and rebuilt it

Re-did wiring and tucked it
http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae67/drftsc400/IMAG0066-2.jpg
Initially on going KA-T but decided to keep it NA

Job finished
http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae67/drftsc400/IMAG0081-4.jpg
So I've been running this set up a while now and realized I need more power. Had a fee wheel changes and lots of street drifting (shhh)

And now currently 4/2013 I got this crazy idea to throw in a 1uzfe motor from a 1992 LS400. Purchased the motor
with harness and ECU for $260! My plans are to run my KA transmission and later upgrade to a 350z transmission. Thanks to
Brett Collins at Collinsadaptors.com this will be possible. Here's what I got done so far...
When I found her

**Update**
Got my kit from Brett so now I can start some work.

Installed! One thing though about this kit is that you need to replace the starter bolts because the bolt heads hit the adapter plate.

Little update*
The last runner for driver side exhaust manifold hits my steering column so I had to cut it off. I'm gonna have to get a straight piece of piping to go around it and then go down to the Y-Pipe I'm gonna use. Also I noticed the oil pan may have some clearance issues with the sway bar. I'll post pictures later today.

Sikky's sway bar works good with this swap. No need to mod oil pans or anything...

Clearance for exhaust manifolds not so bad but I did have to Frankenstein the Driver side due to it hitting the Steering Shaft. It looks like crap but I'll get myself some Tundra headers later on and do it better.

I will try my best on getting all the details on the wiring. It will only apply to s14 chassis since i'm using the dash harness. I know for s13 it's easier and mr. "shoguner" on here has a write up on it.

It will be the same for a s14. Just where you get your power will be different. I ran a new fuse block so I didn't bother with my chassis harness.
Should be able to find a constant and switched power in the engine bay, along with the starter signal if you want to retain the stock key.

Yesterday's picture... Mounted fans on the radiator and put car back up on jackstands. I ended getting a 1 piece driveshaft that should be ready today. I'll be able to move the car under it's own power finally! Stay tuned for more updates. I'll post pictures up of wiring once it's all finalized. Also I keep blowing the fuse for the starter switch I believe it is. It calls for a 7.5 amp fuse so I threw in a 15 amp. Let's see how that holds up.

So I finally got my Driveshaft and slipped right in. Ended up shortening it 3-1/2" My shifter came right up on the right spot (no clearance issues). I had the chance to drive it down the street. It's freaking amazing you can feel the torque so much! In this little small clip I have no exhaust and no O2 sensors which is why it sounds a bit choppy at low rpm. Enjoy i'll post up more pix later.

**Update**
Car is 97% done. All I need now is just to wire up about 2 more wires from a plug i'm missing on the ECU which is very important. That plug has the wire that powers the whole ECU. That being said I ran the car on basically no MAP. that's why it felt so choppy and no power. I should be visiting the junk yard on Saturday to pick up that plug and finish up all my wiring. Exhaust are done... not the best job but it works. I'll be removing the blast pipes and installing my other muffler. Not sure the brand but it has Japanese characters on it, Looks like N1 style... Should tone it down a bit. I'll be posting pictures up with which wires to connect to what. It's really easy and I hope someone here in Cali attempts this swap.

Good progress on the swap! Keep it going. I wouldn't recommend running a fuse that high on that circuit. You'll end up melting wire/insulation cause you're drawing too much. Find the short/wiring issue before you have an electrical fire.

Hey brother what did you end up having to do for the transmission mount? Is it bolted up with just a single bolt?

For the transmission I used my stock mount but only managed to get 2 out of the bolts on there. When the engine slides up it allows you to the the holes in between the 2 actual bolt holes. Lined up perfectly for me. As for the Power steering you have two options.
1st option- Use LS400 Power Steering pump which has reservoir mounted on it and get your KA high pressure hose extended to reach over to the pump.
2nd option- Still need to get your High Pressure Hose extended BUT you use a SC400 Power Steering Pump which doesn't have the reservoir mounted on it. This allows you to keep your stock S-Chassis reservoir and just run your lines to it. Big fat one will connect to the Pump and the other back to your Rack.

thank you so much to referring me to the correct build thread of yours! I just went to a local car rebuild yard that has a 1uz in their storage BUT no wiring harness :/. they said they could get another car with everything in it and I could come pull everything I needed for the same price($350). I know that's a higher price than what most of you guys have paid but its the closest I have available to me. and since I live a mile down the road they will bring it over after I pull it for free. so yay for no shipping fees. but onto the questions.
1. what all should I pull from the car if I decide to do it myself?
2. what king of mpg are you getting from daily driving? bc this will be my daily as well.
3. what all did you replace when you rebuilt the motor?
4. if you do not mind (please do not mind lol), how much did this swap cost you? under $3k?

First off what year is the motor and what car did it come from? If the motor is complete all you'll need is the harness and ECU, My MPG's are relatively similar to my KA24DE. So my question is simple. How happy are you with the power of the 1uz in your s14? If I did not miss anything you are running an early model 1uz with 261 hp and 268 lf ft torque. This is the swap that I want but before I dive in I want to get some driving impression comments from people that have completed this swap. I also have an s14 and I have gone the route of the ka-t and I blew the motor. Now I would like to go back to na power but the lsx is just to costly. Thanks!

I'm very happy about the power actually. The torque is so freaking badass! In my opinion I think it's a good build for the buck. Only issue you will run into is the modification of the Driver side Exhaust Manifold. Other than everything should be pretty much bolt on. Like you saw I purchased the full kit from Brett at swap1uz.com excluding the Driveshaft. The Driveshaft I got custom made as a one piece at local shop. This car is my Daily Driver and have no complaints whatsoever.

my motor is a 1992 early model 1uz. and that's good to hear about the mpg! I get right around 24mpg depending how much spirited driving I do, but even with some more than average spiritedness I get 21. as for how much you put into your rebuild I don't think ill be spending that much. ill probably just be taking the engine apart and thoroughly cleaning it as you did and painting some things to make them looking new again and then replacing wp, op, gaskets and tensioner. if I can get a good deal on some lower mileage pistons and cranks ill just do that. :hsdance:

That is the one thing I like about what I have found. The adapter for the ka transmission also works for the z32 and z33 transmissions. So you can upgrade the transmission and drive shaft when ready or necessary.

That is correct zenkiset... I actually traded my s14 for a Subaru WRX Wagon. I got a baby on the way so I had to put my priorities first. But it doesn't stop there... I have an s13 which I will build also with a 1uz engine. You guys can follow me in Instagram under sezio_g to check out my progress and work i've done. Thank you all for your support! But please stand by for something greater!
Awe man. I are sad! :(
Also i would advise NOT putting a KA transmission in a Ls400. They are not that strong.

This was with a SR and 245's.
I would suggest a r154 or a 350z trans (they're cheaper than you would think. I picked mine up for $300)

Dang shoguner lol you sheared off that gear! My KA trans did pretty well. Then again I daily drove my car more than anything. I did have plans to use the 350z tranny though.

It was my friend's car. I used a 350z trans right off the bat.

if this was going to be anything other than my daily driver I would not use the ka tranny, but it will be my daily. very little beating on this thing and little to no clutch kicking. but as soon as I can find an s13 vert to daily, the 1uz s14 will deff be upgrading to a 350z trans and be turned into a track car.
but first things first.. I gotta finish the swap before any of the others can happen lol.

Started getting upgrades here and there. blah blah blah not much of a typer so
i'm just going to post up pictures and go from there...
what specs are those white xxr 521
