Sup fellas, I have a Compustar 2WSS A/S alarm system on my Acura TL. It works really great and has excellent range (1 1/4 mile). I recently returned my TL back to stock and now I'm deciding whether or not I should switch the alarm over to my 240sx. It has a built in Turbo Timer and Remote Start. I'm wondering if anyone has any experiences with these types of alarms with turbo engines. I'm swapping to an SR soon and would love to save $100 bucks for a turbo timer when I can just swap alarms.

Here's a pic of the unit I have:

Yup I have one works great. but make sure upon install you like the turbo countdown length cause you cannot adjust it once it's set. mines at two minutes and its waaaaay to long. but man autostart is great inthe winter. also make sure you get everything hooked to an ignition wire. mines on an accesary wire and dosent turn my electric fans on. which blows I need to rewire that still.

its a great alarm. Ive got the FM version. 1/4 mile range on it. course my remotes dead so I need a new one. I cannot count how many chicks have asked me if the remote was a cell phone. not only does it show you its beiing f'd with but where. they hit your windshield and a hammer flashes on the windshield. door opens the door flashes open and closed.

for most of the day to day driving people do yes. track days I'd let it cool for that long.. but for everyday driving yeah its about 1:30 too long

n00b question:

the purpose is to cool down the oil running through the engine so it dosent coke up inside the turbo. it just let sit idle for awhile and you can get out and go about your business instead of sitting there waiting for oil temps to drop in your car. really only usefull on long trips or trackdays where temps get high. running to the store on the corner.. not so neccesary. but if the store is 20 miles away and you drive there at 6800 RPMs
