I wanted to know if anyone has driven or owns a juke awd. I know those things look kinda funky but its time to get rid of my 5 series 2006 bmw and i want to get a reasonably priced car for the woman to drive. Im not interested in comments about the looks of that rhino face juke but id like some input about reliability etc. thanks in advance.

Is it possible to change the round lights to something square-ish? If that light isnt round, the car would look 100% better.

trunk space on that thing is horrendous. I wanted one too until I saw how small the juke really was.

I agree with the trunk thing or else I would have bought one instead of my Veloster Turbo.

Hmmm. Interesting responses. I heard about the trunk space, that is a big deal breaker but i do have a truck for lugging junk. Have any of you driven this thing? And how is the turbo velosaraptor?

The fwd should have more space than awd.

I've never driven a Juke so I can't give you any advice on that, but I will suggest you drive a FIAT 500 also. Those things are affordable, super fun, fuel efficient, and just look cooler.

Drove a fwd juke today. Was a quite impressed even though the previous owners neglected it in every way possible. Im definitely going to search and test an awd, may be a forester as well, those seem like cool cars. Any other ideas for under 25k awd?

Why does it have to be AWD? Even here in the northwest AWD isn't all that necessary. Does your wife plan on doing a little rally driving?

Hahaha. No, actually we have a cabin in the mountains and im sick of throwing on chains or having to drive like a grandma when it snows a little. I know there might still be times where ill meed chains etc.

Mazda CX5 you can get it with AWD and the auto is a 6 speed and not a CVT. The AWD base is below 25k but if you up the trim you will get close to 30.

Personally I like the Juke's T-Rex skull appearance, but the CX-5 is a good looking car as well.

I wish the CX-5 and Juke would have a AWD option with a manual transmission. They only offer a manual transmission with FWD.

Ive looked into mazda cx-5. I like them but read on edmunds that the transmission has some issues. I think i need to research the cx-5 a bit more because ive never dealt with mazdas and know nothing a out them.

I've never driven a CX-5, but I did own a MX-6 throughout high school and college. I put 100k miles on it and countless trips to eastern Washington and it never gave me a single problem.

It's at least worth a test drive. If it does have transmission issues and they already know about them, you'll either get one with the problem already fixed or be having that fixed under warranty (though who wants to deal with that).

Oh yeah ill definitely go drive one before any final decisions are made. I would really love to keep the bmw but it is horrible in the snow and on top of that anytime i have a problem that is non mechanical the stealership rapes me, i even bring my own lube gloves and condoms when i go to visit them. Haha.

I have not driven the Juke but I am quite familiar with Nissan's CVT trans having driven a rental Altima with it, a rental Cube with one and a rental Versa with one. There is nothing wrong with them and they do actually have a cool little shift it yourself feature. It is actually better than driving a standard automatic trans in my opinion. FWIW

I own an 07 Versa SL with CVT transmission and the CVT is awesome imo

I bought the wife a cube. It's great. Sits four adults comfy. The rear seats recline. Not a ton of storage but for a weekend road trip with four it works out great.

I didn't get the chrome edition but the trim right below it.

Has the navigation cd/mp3 with iPhone iPod blue tooth and the back up camera and the Rockford package.

With the service plan that covers all the maint. I got well under 25k

Wow under 25k is a good deal for all the extras. Is yours an awd and do you hit the snow with it? Im glad the jukester is working out for you guys, i really need to test a 2014 this weekend lol.

It's 2011. I don't know if the new ones have awd.

Not much snow this year. But it handled fine the couple times it did

Some dealership offered 21k for a 2014 awd s. They are like scavengers - will do anything to get a sale. I talked to one of my buddies who also works in finance at my company and he said to wait till next sunday because they will want to meet their quotas for Q1 and will do anything to make a sale happen. So im gonna shop around test drive se cars and make the kill next week.

Well what kind of problems do these cars have besides transmission and turbo problems? I mean ive read subarus and mazdas have tranny problems so im thinking kind of fucked either way if i want an awd.

Yeah im not ever buying a honda. They are reliable but i have driven quite a few and just cant stand the way they drive, especially my moms honda pilot. I guess i dont have too many options at this point, may be ill test a honder just to see it changes my opinion lol.

How many people bashing this car actually own one? I have owned a Juke for about a year now and I can say that I like it. Here is a list

PROS:
-good in the snow (I have driven it in about a 8 inches of snow in the mountains with no problems)
-I haven't had any mechanical issue or anything of the sort at 20k miles.
-fun to drive, fairly quick for what it is
-I have rocksford fosgate speakers that came as an option from the dealer, they sound amazing
-extremely easy car to clean
-CVT, it it funky compared to A/T but it is smooth.
-I get about 32 MPG

CONS:
-I have heard on forums that people have problems with the CVT, but have not experienced any myself
-lag central when you're starting from a stop until about 3k rpms
-I myself do not think the backseat is that small, but I have had a few people complain

Awesome post. Just the type of stuff id like to hear. I did not do any car hunting today but talked to the stealership and arrived at $22,250 on an awd s juke. Ill see how far i can knock the price down before i ever step foot in the door.

Well i pulled the trigger. Beat them down to 22k out the door with taxes and licensing. Tried to go lower but the manager said he had to call the regional manager to get approval and the lowest he went with was 22,200. He said if it was not end of quarter there was no way in hell he would let that happen. Since my financing rate is pretty killer i think i came out on top on this one. I guess i beat them down 1k below invoice for my AWD Juke 2013 S model. Basically i got the car around the 19,700 range and all the licensing and taxes put it up right to 22k. I beat the finance manager over the head a bit too - he was sweating bullets! Ill post a follow up in case anyone wants to know how this puppy rides etc.

Mini's are fun but straight up piles of crap in e reliability department. I would not go near a used one let alone a new one. Seen way to many things fail on those cars even under warranty.
