So i just got my 96 s14! Drove it for a week and going to work the other day it over heated from low radiator fluid, melted plug boots so after getting it back to the house, replaced the plugs with nice NGKs new plug boots and wires. It started up and idled just fine that night.
So next morning i add 5050 coolant in the radiator and soon enough a ton of white smoke comes pouring out of the exhaust. It also makes a bubbling sound from the coolant.
I was wondering if this is a blown head gasket, never had one go bad but the symptoms are there. I need to know so i can fix it and get to work, i have a back up vehicle but the 14 gets wayyy better gas mileage.
Kinda sucks this happened since this summer im doing a rb26 swap with my friends. But if its like a 80 gasket set it wouldnt bother me to much to get it up and going again.
Thanks for the help guys and very excited to be on ZilVia!!!

So you were driving with low water on your radiator?? and it overheated. Yup sounds like your headgasket is fucked!!! take your spark plugs out, if you see coolant then your head gasket is blown, also if you see bubbles in your radiator when you rev it then your head gasket is blown....

Head gasket no doubt. good just buying a car and wrecking it shortly after. why didn't you just top the coolant off?

well i deff didnt wreck it, and it was topped off but it must have leaked out and on my way to work and over heated. didnt see any coolant since it has been raining and snowing (ohio weather sadly) so prolly washed away. any suggestions on how to effectively check for a warped head?

:p really. and if you want to really do a RB26dett swap, I'd have bare minimum 8k-10k cash in hand for all of the work.
