Has anyone bought stuff from these guys? the KA manifold looks pretty diesel and a good price, a long with the wastegate and the exhuast...
Thier stainless steel exhuast are $260 shipped!
Let me know if anyone here is rocking their stuff.

They do the job. I've heard lots of cracking manifold stories. I've also heard that a flex pipe added at the bottom of the down pipe helps with cracking issues immensly.

ive seen these for sale and they look decent but ive also seen a post on a honda forum showing how the one they were using blew a whole about the size of a quarter through one of the runners. they look nice but i say you get what you pay for
there service was great; but the manifold is really thin. a guy on here has it on his car for awhile with no cracks. but i know of 2 that have cracks. so it is a hit and miss. ive also seen other steel manifolds that have cracked too.

My question is what is the piping size on the exhaust?

ya know theres a thread in the group buy section where all your questions are covered...... they've redesigned all the S chassis manifolds including a new manufacturer and were test fitted by Planb and kyle bennet (who is hosting the GB) big improvements and keep getting better. kyles to much of a perfectionist to let himself be associated with crap.

If you were referencing me, I read that thread first and saw that someone asked the same question I just did. I checked out SSAUTOCHROME.com and the GB page. Even their ebay auctions don't state the size of the piping. At least the last time I checked over a month ago...
So know, I don't know...but thanks anyways.

i spoke to psi240sx i think his name is, with a green S13, anyways, he had the exhaust (3 inch piping) and he said it was VERY loud, too loud for his liking, he even had the resonator welded in , and it was still too loud, he ended up selling it, but he doesnt have the manifold making high HP and he says he loves it.
I might experiment the exhuast on my S14, idk.

The new top mount KA and SR manifolds are awesome! The old bottom mount T2 manifolds sucked.. The welds were crappy, and they cracked a lot. These new ones are WAY thicker, and the welds are WAY better. I picked up one for my S13 SR project and I don't see any reason why it won't last for a very long time. The pipe diameter looks the same as a Weld-L . For the money, you can't beat it..

how about the HKS Style turbo extension?is there any clearing issue?

I actually used a real HKS turbo outlet and had to grind down my bellhousing on my tranny to make it clear with the manifold. pictured here: http://www.planb-attack.com/jay/Silviaswap/Dumpipe2.jpg http://www.planb-attack.com/jay/grind2.jpg
And I also had to grind a little off of the head so that the manifold would clear. Thats pictured here: http://www.planb-attack.com/jay/grind.jpg
I do like the bottom mount manifold, very thick, no cracks so far, and a nice hp gain. The exhaust was very nice quality, but wayyyyyy toooooo loudddddd. As stated above, I welded in a 30" resonator and it helped but it was still too loud for me, I sold it to get an N1. Here was the exhaust before the resonator: http://www.planb-attack.com/jay/Silviaswap/AllStainless.jpg http://www.planb-attack.com/jay/Silviaswap/Exhaust.jpg
And here is a video showing how damn loud it was: RIGHT CLICK AND SAVE AS ONLY!!!! http://www.planb-attack.com/jay/Jay3.mpg

3 inch piping? loud on an SR...proble not a good idea to run it on a N/A KA then huh? :ughd: damn...

Thanks for you the pictures!so if i use stock manifold,do i still need mods to clear the HKS turbo outlet?

dang jay I just noticed you turned your HKS into an open dump! Sweet!

with a stock manifold I dont think you will need to mod anything to make it fit.
I dont have a vid clip of the car with N1 hosted anywhere sorry.
Steeles- Yea that was an experiment gone wrong lol. I was hoping it would work but the problem was that the block off plate inside the o2 housing is designed more for flow, and not designed to seal completely so it resulted in a huge exhaust leak. I later had it modified so it would plumb back into itself.

I bought a manifold, HKS knock-off elbow, and a t25/28hybrid turbo from them. The turbo blew on the test drive :(... they refunded my money instead of sending a new one....
but the manifold and elbow are holding up fine. the manifold didn't stay polished for long but no cracks.. yet... my elbow didn't have the clearance probs of that HKS one posted, but it is real close to the steering rack.

Did you pre-lube the turbo before starting the car? It's necessary to let oil flow through the turbo for at least 5-10 seconds by cranking the starter with the plugs out, and injectors disconnected. Otherwise, you will have a 50/50 shot at frying the thrust bearing when you start it up for the first time.

Sorry to be such a n00b,but what the heck is a screamer pipe?
A company in australia was making a o2 housing called a screamer pipe which would let the exhaust gasses coming out of the wastegate dump straight out to the atmosphere, instead of getting plumbed back into the exhaust. If you have ever heard a car with an open wastegate setup, you would know why they called it a screamer pipe :)
They kept having problems with them cracking, bad design I guess so it isn't made anymore. I tried to make mine into one. It could be done if you have the turbo off, you can take both pieces to a welder and he could remove the block off plate from the o2 housing and weld it into the turbine housing, and do some mods to the o2 housing to get it all to seal, closing all gaps.

^what he said :D I may end up picking up a second one from SS and seeing if I can do that. send it with kyle back to them and see if they'll make them lol :) I know enough people with welding skills
