Pic request... shaved 3rd brake light (w/o kouki taillights)

hi. since the weather is getting better i've decided to start the body work on my s13 fastback again. i am thinking of shaving the rear 3rd brake light but i'm not quite sure how it'll look. i have seen many pics of shaved 3rd brake lights but of only fastbacks with kouki tailights, none of the original usdm taillights. i would like to see pics so i could decide for sure. thanks!!!

OMFG... i am curently doing the same thing right now... my brake light has been shaved off for a while now. im just waiting for my paint to come in... its also going ot have a black top... good work! gives me an idea on how mine is going to come out. diff color though! peace

actually it's a decal... u don't shave decals, u peel them off. its ther to help hide really bad body work on that center piece done by the previous owner. it's coming off soon...

and yea... the skirts i'm searching for were only on jdm and canadian s13s. i believe they were optional on the super hicas/se models. they are exactly like the pdm skirts but are made out of urethane.

hey man, do a shitty job, and yeah, in a couple years you'll be piss and moan about the chunks falling off your car. do a NICE job (like me!) and you won't see a damn thing... only people that will will be the NEXT owners several years down the line =P

it's better to weld a strip of steel over the hole to make it solid. the bondo will crack eventually and won't stand up to any abuse at all. a lot of people don't understand this and fill door holes with bondo and all kinds of crap. it's kinda sad...

I'm in the process of painting my car in my auto body class and did a bunch of my own body work, including shaving the 3rd brake light. I wouldn't have even considered doing that without busting out the welder. Anyways, it should be finished within a week or two, I'll try and get some pics up.
