i plan on beefing up my cylinder head , i ordered new hks cams, greddy valve springs, and im gonna get ras's too, maybe new valves depending on what condition they're in.
has anyone else done any head work for the sr20? i've worked on domestic heads, but of course parts for those are easy to get and easy access to machines to cut valves/seats/guides(or liners) etc.
i'd like to do my own head at school (high performance-tech school) but i don't think they have the correct size cutters to cut out and replace seats for imports and then i don't think they have the correct size valve seat cutters either(both fast and mira style cutters).
most likely i'll have to take it to some shop and they'll charge me up the ass :-/
i was looking on phase2's website and they had the tomei solid pivot lifters, has anyone ever bought them and installed them?
i don't know if i should buy them or not, might as well since i'm gonna replace the other parts when the head is off....
anyway, they also say that you have to measure and buy the correct size of shims and rocker guides, well what part should i measure? the installed height?( like valve springs?) , should i put the shims underneath the tomei pivot lifters?
first off, i don't even know where the tomei lifters go,i even looked at valvetrain pics of sr's ,i guess it must be underneath the single arm of the rocker arms (the two arms on top of the springs-the one arm on the opposite side of cam)....... i havent had the time to even take the head off yet (i'm away for college-no time to go home every weekend to work on the car). well, any info/help would be appreciated.

also, im gonna order a new water pump, is the s13 and s14 sr20det water pumps the same? i would assume so, but i'm not positive. :blah: sorry for the long speech
