The story..
After having my swap in for about 3 weeks, and putting ~900 miles on it...
(since i doubt anyone knows the streets.. Kirby is a 4 lane east/west street, and Scotsdale is a 2 lane north/south street with a 2 way stop sign at the intersection of Kirby and Scotsdale.)
While going down kirby heading to work, a lady in a dodge caravan was at the stop sign on scottsdale. she went to cross kirby and pulled out right in front of me. Luckily i was not going very fast. Regardless, there was not much time.. I jumped on the brakes but the front of my car hit her rear wheel/quarter panel sqaure at a good speed. This set both of my airbags off and smashed the front of the car quite well. I am ok, and the lady was as well except for bumping her head on something. She was also issued a ticket.
What a grand thing to happen. She makes a bad choice and now I am without a car for who knows how long, and we don't even know if the car will be considered repairable by the insurance company, as a new dash and airbags alone are near $3,000. Also, I could see part of the front frame rail was torn, and coolant was on the ground so the radiator is probaly done, along with the condenser and so on, it didn't go back far enough to affect the fan or waterpump though.
I may or may not post pictures. I haven't decided whether I want them parading around on the internet.
In the end I know that the fact no one was seriously injured is what's most important.... But given the money and mainly the TIME in this car, it's VERY frustrating as I'm sure many of you know.
