just out of curiosity, what do alignment shops actually DO when they give you an alignment? I know what all the front axle parts look like but where do they adjust?

front is just caster, camber and toe
toe=tie rods
caster=tc rods (stock is not adjustable)
camber=eccentric bolt and/or camber plates (if you have such)

front axle?
stfu.

They can also lube up your front diferential with motor oil, 10w30 should be fine, bahahahahha!

On the same topic, if I dial in a little more negative camber up front via camber plate, will it throw my toe off by much?

go fist yourself

no i mean how do they physically go about adjusting the pieces on the SUSPENSION (not the axle sorry I was at a loss for words) to make things line up properly..My front driver side tire is wearing very severely on the inside, but i need new struts

the only thing they can adjust stock is the toe, why don't you just go get the alignment done and ask if you can look at what they are doing. and maybe if i had such a gaping whole for a rectum as you i could fist myself. but as it stands it is physically impossible. so stop thinking about shoving objects into bodily orifices and start learning more about cars, with over 1000 posts i think you should have at least basic knowledge about this sort of stuff. at least you would if you had taken 5 minutes to look under your car...

not everyone is as smart as you I suppose (although I know how to spell)- ive never had to repair suspension parts before so I want to know what im getting into before I go to the shop and have any work done. What does post count have to do with my knowledge of cars anyways?

Post count is a representation of time spend on the forum, and with such an abundance of information avialable to you, it is assumed that you may have encountered some of it. or to put it bluntly, the more posts you have, the more time spent on forum, the more information you have come across. but, it is apparent from many of your posts that you have not absorbed much if any useful information. Also, i don't see anything mispelled.

Rear camber is adjustable by an eccentric bushing/bolt on the ruca.

loosen the nut and then turn the inner tie rod for toe.

caster/camber isnt adj stock.

oh. eccentric bushing. right, I knew that. lol I was poking around trying to figure it out the other day and I was like "damned if I see anything adjustable."

I'm pretty sure the only adjustable things on the suspension stock is toe in the front, and camber in the rear.

toe is adjustable rear too

I don't remember seeing that for some reason. (haven't been under there in almost 6 months.)

yup, rear is eccentric in the RUCA and toe rod, also the front rod? not sure about that one.

Dousan_PG

front rod is not.

front camber is adjustable, iirc mystock struts were slotted for the bolt to sliip around, but i dont think all years 240sx are such

front toe is adjustable (tie rods)
front caster is not (tc rod)

rear forward is not
rear camber is (RUCA)
rear toe is (toe link)

ive played with enough subframes to know this for sure.
my s15 subfarme is same, non adjustable forwardlink and rest are adjustable (stock)

both my 89's were not adjustable in the front (camber).

which is what would cause tire wear on the inside of the tire (or outside) i think the tires are sitting something like this / | on the front.

camber, toe, caster?

I thought it was camber at first, turns out if you corner hard the front camber levels out. I was told if your tires weren't wearing evenly because of camber then you aren't driving fast enough.
