I've been tearing my hair out over this one, these will go on a 1996 Cherry Red 240sx:
Gramlight 57C ($864) shipped in 16x7 +33 - available in silver, gold, white
go chicken fn01rc ($800) shipped 17x7 +35 - available in silver, bronze, hypersilver

As far as deisgn goes I don't really prefer one over the other.. but I do prefer bronze over anyother color, and 17s size wise is a plus.

But the go chickens with 17 inch more expensive) tires come out to be about the same cost as the 57Cs with tires...so the 16s down the line would be cheaper as far as tire costs go... I'd get them except I'm tired of silver and white... just wondering your opinions on gold Gramlight 57Cs on a cherry red car... and of course, any pictures would be great, I've searched all over and can't seem to find any ones on chery red S14s.

use photoshop, find any color s14 with fn01rc, and change the car color to red

You can also get the FN01R-Cs in 17x8 +35... They'll clear coilovers with a 5mm spacer.

I did use photoshop and photochopped picsof those rims onto my car, however, it's really hard to tell from 1 picture (badly phtoschopped too)... gold on red... it could work.. or could be really tacky...

worthless sizes...they will both suck in those widths and offsets...

so i vote you get neither until you decide to man up and for the same price get a decent size...

Well it really depends on the coilovers, but some of the ones that have smaller lower brackets (like Zeal) won't, so I just said that to cover my ass. ;)

After seeing both side by side in person in 17x9 +15 for the FN01RC and 17x9.5 +12 for the Volks, I vote you get the 17x9.5 +12 and stop being a bitch.

17x9??!! Holy you wanna pay for my tire costs??! lol I have a 4x114.3 so the go chickens don't come in that size... but I am considering 17x8 all around however, I'm on KYB AGX right now, so I'm assuming I will have enough clearance on the inside in the front? I did theoffset calculator I can't remember exactly but I will give up a lil over 1 cm on the inside w/ 8 inch up front...

Anyway my point is, the Gramlight gold, yay or nay on the cherry red S14?

yea in fact I think that's what I'm going to do...

I'm deciding between 215/45/17 or 225/45/17...although I'mworried that 225/45/17 increases the overall dimaeter a lil too much and would make the car slow in acceleration.

I also like the Gram Lights, but 16x7 i think thats way to small for an S14. My friend has the Gram Lights 57C's on his 200sx in 16x7, he thinks it's too small also.

The Bronze/Gold would look great on the Cherry Red 240. I have a Cherry Red 240. ;)

17x10 +25 will fit stock s14, right? what about in +12? w/ 225/40-45/17 tires and 3 degrees of camber all around, would rolling or pulling fenders be neccessary. 1.5" of drop all around

hmm wouldn't 225s be a little too small for a 10 inch wide rim?

nokeone
04-07-2004, 11:21 AM
^..no..

you can put 205s on 9j wheels pretty easily...

225 can fit on 10j...

yea you can fit 225's on 10, but thats even way extreme for me...smallest i would do is 235-40-17 on a 17x10

and 17x10 +12 w/225-40-17 will not fit stock rear S14...u you have to pull rear fenders
