So from people who have been down this road already to do it over would you
-Go get your auto done start your business and hold on tight
-Go to auto ONLY for yourself.. get an outside job to fund cars for yourself do wat you love as your own thing.

Thanx! for imput and thoughts!

^^^ You'll be surprised of the things people post, OP just do what ever everybody else does, go work as a technician at a dealer ship, save some money then open up your own shop...

Tech school is a waste of money unless you're In fabrication or auto body.
If you want to be a mechanic, get a job at a full service shop that doesn't imports AND domestics. In 2 years you'll have a solid education of APPLICABLE knowledge, and it won't cost you $$$$ either. Every tech I've met/trained in the 8+ years I worked in auto repair that just came out of UTI/wyotech/etc. knew a TON of useless information, but very little PRACTICAL knowledge about how to actually repair a customers car, AND most of em still had like $15k in school debt.

Get a job changing oil and doing tune-ups, and learn every single thing you can from anyone who knows more than you.
