All Stars S14.5 redone

heres the All Stars S14.5..but its had a makeover..

this was posted on..suprising Honda-Tech.com

Once again I bring to you another non Honda/Acura related thread; this time it's my brother's '97 Nissan 240SX. The car has been around for a little bit over a year now, but we recently did a little makeover to the exterior by means of a little caron fiber goodness. Team Prototype.com/CFType.com down in San Diego did a complete carbon fiber layover of the fenders, roof, trunk, pillars etc. just in time for Import Auto Salon, take a look at the great craftsmanship involved in their work. Anyways, to answer some other questions ahead of time: the wheels are black HRE 441R's measuring 19x9.5 with a 245/35/19 in the front and a 19x10.5 with a 275/30/19 in the rear; it's a Cusco cage, Nismo seats with Willans harnesses, and of course a SR20DET swap, etc. Here are some images of the car heading to IAS yesterday and after setup at the show. Oh, and yes it's a showcar, so if you want to cry and complain about that don't waste your time; click back on your browser. Constructive criticism if fine, just don't give some useless comment with no explanation.

I think the kit is whatevers.... never really liked bomex stuff... Rims are super clean... Carbonfiber overlay IMO is kind of halfway done... He should have just painted the car black on top to keep it clean, or actually made a full cf trunk. I don't really like how he just layered cf on top....

ive talked to that guy hes cocky, i talked to him at hot import nights, and i dont like the setup, to much on looks and no speed, stock sr with nos...... and i hate the interior its got digital gauges(honda), and a huge stereo system, i dont mind the conversion, but the overlay on the top is kinda ugly....only other thing is like this car is always in this one magizine, and theres always doing some kinda thing to it, wish they could have picked a car with more then bass, paint and a ground effects kit

he should get rid of the overlay cf...it looks cheap, you can see it's an overlay....kit looks ugly...too cheap, looks like an imitation or just a copy of an original...the guy should've had a white scheme with real cf on top, shaven handles, and a clean body...that way it don't stink...

The lines of the car are totally lost. it's not a 240, its just a shell with s15 headlights and a wierdly fugly bumper.

Kit is nasty, always hated it, and it is the most used S15 front :(.

Otherwise it isn't too bad. Should have gotten a CF Trunk. Or at least covered up the lines in the trunk.

I personaly think he did a pretty good job, I just wish that I could afford to have an sr engine + and s15 front, I think that s14.5 are some of the sexiest looking cars out there. Personally I dont think that the particular body kit flows well with the sides and rear. But then again I dont have the money for side skirts myself. All and all Its alot better than alot of cars out there especially import cars.

as much as i don't like the bomex bumper and the fake carbon fiber overlays(i agree, he should've painted it black), it's a show car..... so whatever he does to try to earn more points or whatever he's got his reasons.

It's a show car...blah blah blah... basically a f&f inspired vehicle. With all the blingy shit possible. Not my thing and I have seeen better show cars. With the conversion it puts him into competition with other cars with conversions and the shit other cars have in that class have way more crazier things going on with thier cars. At least the car doesn't look all cheap and mickeymoused. He put his Time and work and effort money into it. The kit looks like shit and I'm not into the halloween color scheme so.... 5/10

i'll give him a 6 out of 10. Mostly for accomplishing his goals with his car(thats more then most of us can say anywayz.) and the effort put into the car. Really don't like it, but its a show car. His wheels are really nice though.

i like it, to be honest. very nice show car. the carbon overlay make honda want to cry. the scheme is very japan-like, but it should have had fender flares and straight camber if the car was seated low like that. i would have made the car higher to enhance the more sporty look because there's no flares. when the car gets baked in the sun... goodbye carbon fiber.

Thanks for all of the great comments, I'm glad that you were all honest with your opinions. Granted that most of you don't like it for whatever reason you have, it's not built to be a track car, drag car, and whatever else most of oyu decided to build yours for. Like that one person said, "To each his own" right? To the one person that said the owner was "cocky" I'm sure you didn't speak to the right person because everyone involved with the build up is anything but cocky. No matter who approaches the car to ask about it or comment about it is treated with respect no matter where it's at. If you feel different about that then I can't change your outlook on it. As for the car, though it's not "your cup of tea" or whatnot, it was built to get exposure for people and sponsors that have helped along the way and has done it's job. Yes, stickers are ugly and clutter up a car but when someone offers you support and whatever else how else are you supposed to represent for them. Yes, the color is loud but how if it were painted black or white how would it get the exposure or stand out from the rest of the crowd. Anyways, like that one person said, "To each his own." Thanks for the feedback, whether positive or negative.

Honestly, I kinda like it. The color is ok, the rims are teh hotness. Only things i would change are the carbon fiber stuff, I woulda just painted it black and left the trunk orange. It looks the worst on the trunk because you can clearly see the orange paint underneath it, it looks like a sticker, which it is. And of course, the bomex kit is nastynastynasty. Put a nicer looking kit on there and get rid of the carbon on the trunk and that car would be very very nice looking.

But to say this guy is cocky, honestly i dont think he is cocky, i had the chance to meet the owner of the car at Philly HIN and i was surprised how up front, and how he took the time to talk to me. Out of all the 'big' hitters in the industry only a hand full of them will take the time out to acutally talk to you, and take the time to answer questions about the car. To the people that said he should of just painted the roof black, it was like that already. And if carbon fiber overlay is so bad, how else are you supposed to do it? unless you make the whole car carbon fiber, and or cut off the roof and make a mold, that is the only way to do it. also even though this car is a show car, atleast its a well built show car. Quality parts, Nismo, Advan, Cusco, HRE's, Kei Office, why are you guys hating so much? cause you cant afford to get this parts? or is it 'its not what you want it to look like?' either way your right, its not what you wanted it too look like, its what HE wanted it to look like. Why does everyone have to hate on it? why cant they apperciate that people are building 240's, and that his or her's 240 is not exactly what yours looks like? i saw "why does he have a sr swap?" as you can see from the picture this car is acutally driven....why do you guys want a sr swap in your cars? do you have more fun in your car with the SR swap? maybe that is why this person swaped the KA for a SR? and with the whole NOS deal....do you realize with the N'cooler set up, that you can acutally add close to 10-15hp on the dyno with it? hey i know we all like more power...

I wouldn't consider bomex a "top sponsor." That's the sponsor that completly destoryed the car. The rest of the car I have no problem with. Vertex would have been a much better choice as far as domestic companies.

to me a 10 out of 10 car would be a car delt up and actually USED on the track rather than sit there collect dust till its whiped clean for the next show.

Guess what girls, Non's S14 doesn't drift. Guess what Non has a cusco cage, but its okay cause the car isn't orange. Do you want us to keep going. I know that Non built Neil's "sorry" motor. He had no problems with the NX set-up, he actually ran everything for the car. But I guess you guys know more them both the owner and Non. Bomex front lip (not in those pics) vs full bomex kit is what you are makinig a comparison of. Also I believe the current rims it's on is some type of Volk. I think HRE is better suited for european cars. As far as apearance wise I like non's car because it's Loud attention grabbing car that doesn't use any gimmicks.

That orange car needs some work in my view.

The bomex aerokit is honestly the worse looking aero kit i've ever seen for any car especially the rear bumper. The rear looks like bomex coppied something from VIS/ Imp Fan/ Ex. Dimensions.

Color is ok, though it invokes femine imagary since i thought only women painted and FOBS painted their cars so Crayola like.

The dash has been butchered digital guages went away with the 80's and the C4 corvette.

Why even mount the AC/climate controls like that do u want to loook like you are scratching ur crotch everytime you try to adjust the settings (if it even works)

HRE's are cool in my book those rims belong on a 911 or Audi TT or S4.

Wheres the engine shot? whats under the hood? probably a stock s13 motor.

haha look, just because someone puts a lot of time AND money into a car -- doesnt mean its a good thing. you have to have GOOD TASTE.

Personally, i like the black top how its got that two-tone look. As for the kit, eh. As for the S15 headlamps, eh. The HRE wheels are great, but we all know they are great because of one thing -- money.

Its really not about all that. A lot of the stuff on that car involves JUST money. Sure, its very clean and showy.. great. But I think the bottom line is that you're preaching to people who really just dont care about that stuff.

So, while I am sure it will impress most people, most girls, or most new car enthusiasts -- the ones who DONT want to adjust the climate control by reaching down on their crotch wont really have an interest in this car.

Either way, I really dont have much to say about it other than -- WRONG FORUM.

i'm a little late adding my two cents but here goes:

I've seen that color scheme before. It was very original and very unique then... now its a copy.

Carbon Fiber overlay? An interesting idea that could be awesome... however, he should have gone with a full C/F trunk and hood, and then just used the overlay on the overlap, roof, and pillars. You can see the paint under the overlay on the trunk. That makes it look cheap. But, it could have been a really good look.

The kit = NO. It looks like crap. I'm a fan of the clean lines of the 240, so covering them up with a cruddy kit just kills the car.

s15 headlights... again, I'm a HUGE fan of the kouki "shark" eyes, and I don't think the strawberry face fits on the s14. Sure, the car looks like a lot of work was put into it... but work just for the sake of work does not make a good looking car. You need a purpose. The kouki headlights are too good looking to replace.

The rest of the car looks good. I like the idea of carrying the paint job into the cabin. Sure the rear speakers look a little out of place, but I like it. It really shows some attention to detail, and gives the car a great theme, some style, and definitely some uniqueness. The car is a great concept, but some of the details need to be re-thought.

To everyone on this forum. This is the owner of the car. I have no problems at all with any of your comments. Like many of you have said this is a forum and everyone has a opinion. I am very open minded and read everything and I have no problems with any of you guys who have posted on this topic. As you can all tell this is my first time ever posting on this site. I've never come here to post pics of my 240 and showoff or anything like that. Who ever wrote that me or someone I know posted pics to get recognition is very wrong. Someone took the pics of another site and posted them here, I never asked him to. You guys can all comment, you all know how hard it is to please everyone. For everyone that thinks I am cocky, that is for from the truth. I have no reason to be and with my position in the industry that would not be a good thing for me, my sponsors, the cars I build and my magazines. I have no problems with any of you or what you guys think, I can see where you are coming from and that is okay with me. This car was built as another project car for our sponsors and as a hobby. It was not built to be in a movie, on magazine covers or to go down the track. It was builts with the parts that I like and parts that my sponsors can get exposure from. I don't need to see your guys car, I am sure they look good in there own ways and you like what you drive. The car is builts as a show car, but I do drive it (not trailor it). Non actually finished the motor work for us and the car drives great now. With 300 plus horsepower I am more then happy with how the car handles. As for taking the car drifting, we have several friends that are professional drivers that have asked us if they could take the car out, but we all know that would not be the smartest thing...even if I took out the audio set-up.
I just wanted to let everyone know that my car wasn't put on this site to bring up conversation, and certainly not to showoff to you guys. If you guys would like to continue talking about the car that is fine, just wanted to set the record straight and let everyone know that the car was built for fun and to get exposure for the people who helped us along the way.

As for s156spd, I don't even know who you are. I have an idea...and its ok that you don't like me. You have said it before and its ok. I have never had anything against you or your cars...you must think that I am someone else.
Maybe we can even meet when the car comes back home and then you can judge for yourself.

There is no reason that I shouldn't take the comments in stride. Look at scene in general. There are some many styles and some many things going on. From the show scene, to drifting, to drag racing. I have been involved with NIRA and the NDRA for over 5 years now and its just not my thing. Don't get me wrong, I would love to see a badass 240 go down the track and kick some serious ass. You know that you can't please everyone and certainly I can't. I guess that some of my friends were defending me on this forum and thats cool from their end...I never asked them to. Its all good and just wanted to tell you thanks for posting the pics. It is some what cool to see what people with 240 think of my car and show cars in general. If I could get a nice big boosted 240, drop it on my suspension and put my HRE's on it and drive it everyday...I would. But them my sponsors would be let down and then there would others that are not happy.

Nothing against you or the guys on this forum and I wish you guys nothing but the best and who knows maybe on day we will see eachother at a show, drift event or possibly a race!

There is no reason that I shouldn't take the comments in stride. Look at scene in general. There are some many styles and some many things going on. From the show scene, to drifting, to drag racing. I have been involved with NIRA and the NDRA for over 5 years now and its just not my thing. Don't get me wrong, I would love to see a badass 240 go down the track and kick some serious ass.
