What the best system out there?
I feel like getting PS2 just because it has
GT3, but other than that I heard Xbox is better.
Nintendo always comes out on top.
I can look for my old atari in the closet.
what do you guys think?

All of them.... Well I would have to say Xbox. I heard it is the shit. If anything the way the Xbox is going to be selling you could always sell it if you don't like it and get a PS2. Remember to do this before Xmas tho. People will kill to have one for their kid or something. Especially if you sell it for a little cheaper than the retail.

I have played all 3... game cube is a piece of shit. IT is nowhere near the other two, only get it if you like mario, cause that is what you get. The controllers are built for 12 year olds and it shows...
The ps2 is really good, and I have yet to have played gt3, only wrestling and a few other games.. but the graphix are not the hot shit I was hoping they would be
XBOX is the bomb, pure and simple. The rumble pack controllers are crazy (your drive out onto a dirt road with only one wheel, only one side shakes) the graphix are way crisper then the PS2, and it has zero load times... Halo is one of the coolest games I ever played too, and project gotham is another game that goes on forever, however it is an Arcade game, not a SIM... Only drawback I saw, every so often in typical microsoft fashion, it has trouble reading the DVD that you put in it, and you have to play with it for a while...
Hope that answers your question... (I would leave the atari out of this...)

Is the game Cube really that bad? My nephew is getting one for Christmas. He is 13, so maybe it will fit his hands? I hope that some good game scome out for it, Nintendo has issued a press release saying it has sold more Game Cubes in the first couple of weeks than any other gaming console in history. So maybe that will make some folks get some games out there.
Personally, I like the PS2.

I personally will be getting a gamecube first.. I already have a PS2, but I'm a hardcore nintendo lover, I grew up with it, and they have always had the best games, and are planning tons of sequels already... plus its only 200 bucks.. Plus I have a feeling that lots of XBox games will be availible on PC.. since thats what the XBox is basically.. We'll see what happens, who knows who will come out on top... I have a feeling that it wont be sony this time, but I dunno about XBox and Gamecube..

Gamecube is not shit. Super Smash Bros is a fucking riot with friends.
However, if you are in the market for a gaming system/dvd combo, either xbox or ps2, the xbox is kind of a better deal, but there are plenty badass games for ps2 right now.
A year from now id definately say xbox; but right now playstation 2 because of mgs and gta3. :D
Gamecube.....
The Gamecube is targeted towards a younger audience for the most part. Honestly the controller, despite how small it is, fits comfortly in your hand more then any other controller...(in my opinion) but that's not going to sell a system to me.
PS2...
A pretty powerful system, yet not nearly as powerful as the X-box. The ps2 lacks in texture memory, unlike the x-box. The ps2 has the largest selection, and best selection of games right now because its already been out for a little over a year. Gran Turismo 3 is great, Tony Hawk 3 is great, Grand Theft Auto 3 is great...yay.
X-box...
This is what I'd get if I were to buy a system right now. It's by far the most powerful system out there, has a progressive DVD player built in ($200-$250 value), an ethernet adapter, and a hard drive. No more needing to buy $30 memory cards. (unless you want to transfer files to a friends xbox) It also has a dolby digital 5.1 deecoder for the most wonderful sound you've ever heard from a console. As far as games...well it just came out 3 weeks ago but...
Halo is frickin' awesome. It's beautiful, and you can play co-operatively with friends, and technically have up to 16 people playing at the same time.
Project Gotham Racing... This isn't a race sim like GT3, but it sure is a lot of fun. I've been playing it at home a lot lately. The cool thing aobut this game (and other games) is you can put in CD's in your x-box and rip the songs to your hard drive and listen to your own music while playing the game as well as the games music.
Dead or Alive 3....it's a great game...best looking fighting game ever....one of the best looking games ever period...
Ok..there is my opinion....so get an X-box or a PS2. Eventually get both.
If it means anything this is coming from someone who is a video game designer and animator.

well, depends what u want. PS2 has a lot more titles. Xbox and gamecube both have better support for multiplayer. i've played PS2 and xbox back 2 back, and i agree that xbox is marginally better. but ps2 is a better value in my book. my friend just got one of ebay for 280, he also picked up midnight street racing and GT3 J-Spec. I'll be getting one soon, either a full PS2, or a full snowboard (burton, K2, or forum, 160, step in bindings, and a pair of boots)
decisions, decisions......

I'll throw in another vote for the gamecube. I've always liked nintendo, and I think I always will. Nintendo's games just have better gameplay. The controller is really comfortable, and it's only 200 dollars.

gamecube is a system i cannot comment on because I have never played the system, but I can say that from what i see on ign.com, the games available on the gamecube are peices of garbage. I dont think any of us would enjoy playing kiddy games that much. The only hot series that is nintendo exclusive is the resident evil series which of course is one of the greatest.
I have played X-box and it reminds me of the PC games.
I will tell you all that PC games aren't supposed to be on the TV. I much rather be playing PS2 games because sony knows what gamers want.
PC games for the most part require a lot of brainpower, and if any of you aren't that bright then dont get X-box, buy a PS2.
####, ok, how can I explain it?
OK, if you want fun, go with PS2, but if you want a game that might take a very long time to beat and require either a lot of thought, or for some of us a lot of cheating, then buy an X-box.
ok, ok, simple answer, buy the #### PS2 with GT3, Grand theft auto 3, and metal gear solid:sons of liberty!!!!!!!
My room-mate bought an X-box the first day it came out and all I can say is HOLY SHIT! Halo is one of the coolest games I have ever played. I would get an X-box...

I bought a Gamecube last week, I love the controller and by looking at the nintendo website, there will be "adult" games coming out for it, and it's supposedly the easiest to write games for so expect alot of games, not to mention it's $100 cheaper then a PS2, which would be my 2nd choice, just because I love playstion, i'll eventually buy one when it go's down in price. X-box, the controller looks as clunky as a dreamcast controller, it's a microsoft product (thats scares me <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'> ) it has one good game, i'll pass on it.

man, i've always been down w/ nintendo. i'm thinking game cube would be the best. i have a ps 1 & 2, but whenever i play a nintendo game that i like i play it for hours. i've put more time into nintendo games (since the 8-bit nintendo) than ne other console.
