I currently have a pretty much stock 93 s13, and I want to get rid of some of the fender gap. I was just wondering how long my oem shocks would last if I put on Stechs? Ill probably get some AGX's this summer, but I'd like to get something on sooner. How's the ride quality with these springs? I figured it wouldnt be to bad since its not much of a drop, or much stiffer.

I don't have a direct answer to your question, but decided to throw my two cents in. For what it's worth (since you mentioned ride quality and drop), I had Eibach Pro-Kits with AGX's on my S13 and the ride was outstanding on the softer AGX settings and yet very firm in turns (due to progressive springs). And personally, I thought the drop was just perfect.

So naturally, I put the same combo on my S14:

However, even I am anxious to hear anyone's input on S-Tech's as I have always been curious about them. Esp anyone who has had both ProKits and STech's. I have decided that there are so few people who have experience with more than one kind of spring, that even though I'm very happy with my ProKits I will try at least one more spring set. But it probably won't be STech's (just because I suspect there is little difference between them and ProKits), but rather RS*R Down springs or Tanabe GF's.

I have the S-tech's with AGX's on my S-14. I love them. It rides fairly stiff and just grabs corners. You can feel the support. From what i have heard, they are stiffer than the other brands (eibach etc.) but i really like them.
More info might be available by searching...i know there are like 3 or 4 threads on the S-Techs already.

i am running agx socks and s techs on mine... I am fairly pleased with them... I felt like it handled a little better, but i couldn't feel a HUGE difference until i added my cusco front and rear bars...
for what I paid for my agx shocks and s techs i could've almost had the tein basic damper setup.. enry level coilovers.. a lil food for thought
overall pleased with the product, would recomend for budget minded people like myself

i have oem struts and s-tech. ride is decent and not bouncy. performs rather nicely for auto-x and drift. i couldn't care less if they sucked beacuse i got them for free.

KYB AGX+ poly bushings and tein S tech. Good combination for the street, rather have something stiffer for track use but the kyb's adjustablility lets me turn up the stiffness a little bit (not a lot though).
very good deal for the money. Pics of my car stock versus the kyb are available on the first page of my website, which is in my sig.
I did these before tein came out with the basic coilovers. If they had made those at that time I probably would have got them instead. but the tein S tech are great for street use and you don't have to worry about clearance problems like you do with c/o's.

had STECH'S on another car and the spring rate was very low, and it seemed way to soft. if your like the germans, and tune their suspensions with springs not sway bars thickness, i dont recomend them. i have had good luck with eibach, well except for their pro-damper kit. the agx are great for the money.

who tunes suspension with swaybar thickness only? that's only part of the battle. go slap whoever put that idiotic idea in your head.

who tunes with any one aspect? thats not tuning... tuning is getting it all to work together.
And from what i've seen the S techs aren't any softer than the comparable springs from whiteline/eibach/etc.

s techs are pretty soft, i am running the rsr race springs right now with agx's on 3/6 setting and they are fucking awesome, great drop too (although drop was not the reason i bought those springs)

yeah RSR and kg/mm both make some really stiff race springs, not really comparable to the S tech.
Maybe TOO stiff for stock kyb.

I don't think I would ever run a "drop" spring or a stiffer spring with stock shocks/struts.
It is just not worth it. You'll blow out your stockers in no time.
Buy the springs now, if you want, but hold off on putting them onto the car until you can afford your new shocks/struts. (just my 2cents)
