I know you ppl up north are laughing but rain sucks too, in snow you konw you have to go really slow and so does everybody else on the road...in rain you know you have to go slow but everybody else around can still go fast. So anyway it rained today and boy do I suck at driving in the rain! I'll have to go test the limits of my cars wet traction in a parking lot sometime cauz I was all over the frickin road today. I was behind some dumbass on a cell phone and he was doin about 20 under in a 45 (wtf!) so I accelerated kind hard (didn't punch it tho) and changed lanes to pass him and started fishtailing! :o got pretty close to hitting the person in the next lane over (3 lane road, i started in the far right) then i was at a stop light and it turned green, I started off slow shifted to 2nd was doing fine, started speeding up and lost traction going from 2nd to 3rd and did another tiny fishtail...wtf! Anybody else have this problem or do I just drive bad in rain?

I think you just may need better tires. Sounds like you're hydroplaning too easily.

Yeah, all my tire wear is from when I first got the car...ya know new to rwd trying to be the badass drifter like in the videos. Then I almost wrecked and haven't done it since...wasn't worth the risk IMO. I'll just get them rotated since the front look good still can't afford new ones.

Hehe. Thank god for that truck suspension. I just go over the curbs and the truck drives fine. Really hand for getting out of parking lots with those stupid gates that charge money. Although, last time I was in CDA, two gates malfunctioned, so 300+ people were trying to get out of one gate. So a guy goes over and breaks off the one striped gate. Funny as shit. Then we hopped the curb and got out onto the street. I love Idaho. Sorry, off topic

When I got my car, it had a set of high performance M+S all seasons on it, so I haven't experienced the full wrath of RWD in rain. Actually, with these it handles pretty well in the rain - I can make is slide, but it usually takes some effort. My understanding is that many high perf. tires are also very good in rain, as they clear water well. If you don't get snow, you may be able to run an agressive tire and get better wet traction that a middle of the road tire.

it's raining here too. my car has always had bad tires. i become mr drifter when it rains. it's just too tempting, always gotta watch for cops though. my gets bad traction in the rain too, if i give it just a normal amount of gas on certain parts of the road the tire(s) will spin.

my tires are really hard 2... the dealership put them on, what can u do... bought it that way,, but that happens to me as well,, u just have to bea real easy on the accelerator..

do you have lsd?.. caus that makes drivign in the rain more dangerous in my experience... see.. only one wheel spins out for me usually, so i keep going straight, because one wheel is still holding the line... but with lsd, it is harder to lose all traction, ,but when u do.. u go ALL over the place... (hehe.. just my way of justifying my silly ass open diff in my rear)

dsc, sounds like when u fishtailed u reacted quickly. if ur tires don't have much tread n ur in a rwd car in the rain u need to do everything gradually, no quick reactions cuz that's how u'll lose control.

getting more off topic... i used to drive a van... and occasionally i'd clip corners and roll over a curb. it was like an automatic response "That's why I drive a van."
Clipped a small rock sticking out of a corner running some back roads the other night in my 240 and it was like "craaap.... not the van..."
