That's what we're looking at.

Pyrotect Full-Face helmet, SA2000 rated. This means you can use it at ANY event. White or Black. You want art on it? Grab a marker and draw some shit on it after you buy it.

Price is $225 + tax. I know its not a huge amount off but it's better than paying $300 for it.

"But I can get a bike helmet for $100" -- That's great. Go buy one then.

If you're in, let me know. I need 10 buyers to get this pricing. NORCAL people only. I'm not shipping helmets. We're all going to the shop together, get fitted, pay and leave.

I got a helmet thats similar to that bell one, I bought it two years ago, used it for 2 drift events and for 1 week on my motorcycle. Im selling it for $120 obo , its already got a few stickers on it though, it shouldn't be a problem gettin um off, its white almost like the one in the picture. I prefer local pickup, but if u want i can ship it.

good luck. i tried to do the same thing a long time ago, and everybody flaked out at the last minute to buy helmets. we had about 8 people who said they would, but in the end i think only 2 or 3 people actually bought, so it wasnt enough to get a group buy price, so the flakers ruined it for everyone. :jerkit:

hopefully there will be enough people to make it happen this time.

this is a really good deal...everyone who is thinking about getting into any sort of track event should jump on this...safety is not something to put off or skimp on...great helmet, great price, and accepted by ALL sanctioning bodies...unlike M rated ones...

Did you guys check out the bell manufacture in oakland, I believe near park ave. from time to time they have minor defects on the paint process and you can pick one up for in expensive. Or even check helmet city in oakland, which is only web based.

open face is good if you wear glasses or something, but yeah your face will get pretty dirty hehe. when i used to track, i would almost always keep my helmet visor flipped up anyway. but i dunno i think a full-face helmet looks cooler hehe, and i was never uncomfortable in it, so it works for me.

Bell motorsports kicks ass, i bought my helmet and some other crap there and the people there are awesome. a few other norcal folks bought their helmets there too last time i tried to organize a GB. but yeah, you jabronies better buy one NOW or art will become infuriated. and you dont want to see art when he's infuriated...

THEN DONT GET IT!!! The ones your talking about are probaly a bicycle helmet or a motorcycle helmet. Probably open faced and not closed face. The open face ones are a LOT cheaper. DOT doesnt mean SA2000 approved which are for auto events. BTW...its not a rip off.

motorcycle helmets are a total different safety qualification. the group buy helmet is a SA2000 rated helmet which is better than a motorcycle helmet. :smash:

Anyways, GB will go down next saturday most likely. I will announce the exact time later on this week (I didn't get a call back today as I was told I would by the shop so I need to harass them tomorrow).

If you can't make it on that day then you need to PM me ASAP to arrange some other way for you to get the helmet at the GB price

So... I just got off the fone with the guy at Bell and we can't do it on saturday. :/

So it has to be friday given the resposnes people have given me. I KNOW this is going to be a problem for some people (like Var), so if you can't make it there on a friday, you will have to figure out what size helmet you need (measure your head, try a friend's helmet, whatever you need to do), and then either a) paypal me money and I'll get your helmet or b) drop off money and I'll get your helmet. I need to get them all at once so there's really no way around it.

Most of you told me friday would be okay so I am assuming we won't have any issues. IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM please e-mail me, I want to get this over with ASAP. E-mail me for quickest response. If you're still on the fence about joining the buy you better join soon... we already got our ten people so you're just losing out on a great deal by not joining us. :D

I have received e-mail from 3 saying it'd be ok, me = 4, Daniel said ok so thats five, Larry said ok also so thats six, I'm prolly gonna end up buying Your helmet Var, so thats 7... who the hell isnt responding? You know who you are.
