I rebuilt the head on a S13 KA24DE and put it on the S13 KA24DE block. I'm using this engine in my S14 with the stock harness, so I switched over the dizzy and the intake manifold. Now when I try to start it, it will crank, but it won't start. I checked for spark and it's good. When I first tried to start it, one of the grounds on the starter was messed up so it sparked a little bit (maybe 2 seconds). Then while trying to fix it when I would test if the terminals would spark, the ground on the battery would have like one little spark. This happened maybe.. 5 times? I made sure the engine was at tdc, and the distributor was lined up ( the cap and rotor). Everything on the wiring harness is plugged in. What might it be? I'm going to check fuel pressure and compression tomorrow.

so I switched over the dizzy and the intake manifold.
i had a KA-t but with a standalone and long story short something happened and i swapped out the dizzy, and because i did that it took away the extra tooth i needed because thats what it was notched at. why did you change your dizzy? and you could have a bad signal at the pickup, are you getting power from your coil? and are you getting fuel?

One thing that came to mind, it got below freezing here. Is it possible the fuel lines have frozen fuel?

so i'm going to check the fuel lines later. could it be a ground? is there a good chance I fried my ecu?

was the ignition on when all of this spark were going on? if so, you could have blown a few fuses. check all of the fuses in the cabin and in the engine bay. if you suspect fuel problems, remove the inlet fuel line on the fuel rail and have a buddy hold it in a clear bottle with a rag in the opening so that fuel dont get everywhere, then turn on the ignition. see if there is good fuel pressure.

No the ignition wasn't on. Could it still have blown a fuse?
