so i have searched and search and can t seem to find what im looking for.
so i had just taken out my distibutor and put it back in.
i put in the the way it was supose to ( so i hope cause it runs)
and check engine like came on throwing codes cam postion sensor and knock sensor( just started with the knock sensor).
now the engine starts and dies and i have to give it gas to start)
can anyone help me fix the distributor issue and should i replace my knock sensor?
cause for a few seconds im guessing the ecu fixes it cause it runs just fine and while it is warmed up it runs fine

or it is a sign that it needs to get retimed.. i just would like to fix it without taking it to someone cause i dont have a timing gun.

please help

What was the procedure you did to install the distributor?

Did you replace the rotor while you had the cap off? Could be an issue. Either way, I recommend you pull the cap back off and re-check your installation. If you replaced your entire distributor, you should have put it in EXACTLY how it came out- otherwise your timing will be way off. Lastly, did you run the correct wires to the correct cylinders? Probably something simple here.

From the sounds of things he has taken the whole dizzy out and not installed it back as per the correct procedure (basically guess'd and pushed it back in.

Well what I did was removed the timing guides on the top and on the driver side
So what I did was put the engine at tdc
Made sure the dizzy is lined up with the rotor pin on the small gear so the grooves line up
Then did all that. I actually just bought a timing light so I'm going to check the timing .
