Hello people.

Been a long time import fan and owned a few in my day. A 350z, a sentra, currently a 240sx.

Looking to do my first motor build and need advise from local people on machine shops.

Any recommendations or stories, good or bad either way. Looking to drop the block off in a week or so.

Let me know.

There's a machine shop in clarksville that i am gonna take my head to next week to get new valves installed. I know there has to be one in Nashville but i'm not sure.

What is the name of the shop there in Clarksville? There is a shop that sounded good in Lawrenceville TN, builds a lot of race motors but hell, they wanted 2500 to do the machine work and assemble the motor, that was with my providing parts. Sorry but 4500 into just a long block is way to much, and they wouldn't do the machine work if they didn't get to assemble the motor.

Anyway, thanks for the info, let me know the name of that shop you are headed to.... get it... ha ha ha anyway. Sorry I am special I know.

I am gonna take my head to All-tech and they will be sending my head to Ice motorsports in clarksville to get the valves done for me.

As far as unwtdhero stated about napa... Napa is initially the one's who took my stock block and did a port n polish w/ 3 angle valve job and i even had them replace all of my exhuast valves and it was only like $200.. That was in deridder louisiana though, but i imagine all napa shops will charge about the same price. It was very professionally done at napa, came back shinny, clean and overall very good job.

No napa didn't mess my valves up, i messed them up when i put my engine back together and didn't tighten one of the cam gears up enough. So don't think they failed on their valve job it was my fault

Hope this helps
