I have read that there are a couple different versions of intercoolers made by Greddy. Mine is an authentic Greddy and it came with both the hot pipe and cold pipe (though they have since been replaced with hand fabricated stainless piping so that there are less breaks in the piping)

Can anyone identify this intercooler for me, or tell me how to determine the max hp of this unit? I think the inlet/outlets are actually 2.75". My builder said he hadn't seen one with that size of inlet/outlet before; he's only seen them with 2.5" tubing. It was on the car when I bought it so I don't know when it was purchased or from where. (Pics are with my old GT2871R external wastegate setup).

I am mounting up a Full Race T3 / GTX3076R setup to a solid lifter/stage 3 cam/sleeved SR20 and probably need an intercooler that can do bursts of 500rwhp+

There are lots of articles about matching IC size for optimal performance. Hp doesn't really matter so much as pressure & volume of flow.

those intercooler pipes look like their stainless steel and will heat transfer but are stronger than aluminum

There are at least 4 variations of the FMIC by offered by greddy. Each has different recommended power levels.

RSPL > VSPL > Spec LS > Type M Spec

I think the RSPL is the only one rated over 400 hp. But no idea how to determine if you have that one.
