If your car sounds like airplane then most likely your fan clutch needs a replacement

I've heard that happens when it goes out. Mine doesn't make any excesive noise, its just always on.

Just post engine bay photos.
For some reason, I'd like to blame society for this!

The clutch fan.

Seriously though, it really doesn't make any more noise. None when I rev it, none when at idle.

It will always spin, it is a viscous coupler kind of like a VLSD and when it gets stuck on you will most likely get belt sequel, as the belts accelerate faster then the fan and pully. Even before I sucked up a plastic bag on my new clutch it spun, it was not until it got stuck on that it sounded liked a industrial fan and made my belts squeal. If your in doubt replace the clutch assembly or go efan. If you decide on efan look it up before you just jump into it, its not always as good as it sounds.

Cool thanks man for clearing that up. Is it normal that on a cold start up, the fan is blowing strong enough to almost blow the hat off my head as I stand next to the car?
