yes I want to build a sohc.
yes I realize its a waste of money

whatever I get needs to look stock from the average person from the outside ( ie no independant throttle bodies, standalone ecu)

so. things of interest

camshaft re-grind. preferably a colt cams trick flow 2
oem flat top pistons
rs enthalpy or similiar
injectors
oversize throttle body
even built heads etc. PM me if you've got anything. nobody else wants this crap anymore aha

A limited run of early 89's came with them pretty sure it is 9.1:1 compression. the last set I found where in an 89 Vin was 00051X.

I think cars manufactured before 11/88 have the 9.1:1 setup.

I think the only external indicator otherwise is the presence of IAT. If there is iat, then it's a lower comp motor.

This is all from memory and I could very well be wrong.

yea, not all 89s though. most 89s where also the lower compression pistons

You're not going to "go fast" on a single cam without turbo. It just doesn't happen.
Go turbo, even a t3 top mount from a z31 is more bang for your buck than all the N/A parts you can buy

He is obviously trying to build a cheater motor for some kind of racing, road racing,mini stock/circle track racing, like he said, must appear stock, someone sell this guy some stuff and stop saying you cant go fast on a sohc, they are pretty good engines and can get a bit better with some good parts, every horse power counts in this stuff! Good luck with the parts search man!

Aren't these turbos t25 with exhaust mount? are they rebuildable like regular T25 turbos?

Ceramic ball bearing t28. Cant go over 14 psi or the wheels break

i have some cp pistons with a 9.1 and 89.5mm bore. .02 over. brand new in the box still.
