it wont hold an idle unless you unplugg the tps and maf sensor than it will idle around 1500rpm. if you plug either of them in the idle will go up and then shut off. any input would be great. thanks.

how high does the idle go? Sounds like a vacuum leak? You check for any codes? If there are no leaks, a high idle can be attributed to the AAC valve going bad. I just ordered one for the same reason.

put in a new tps. but still will only idle if maf sensor is unplugged. checked for codes today, only came up with code 55. which should mean- normal engine management system operation is indicated. so its saying everything is ok. but the car wont idle :wtf:

Idle problems are extremely common on 240's. First off, are you SURE that your new TPS is adjusted properly? Is is the one connector or the two connector TPS? If it's the two connector TPS they you adjust it via the closed throttle position switch, NOT tps voltage. Check for vaccuum leaks as well. Also clean your throttlebody and the AAC valve. The IACV's rarely have issues with getting dirty as they are pretty open on the inside. I had a fix where I added a direct ground to the MAF/TPS/coolant sensor shared ground circuit that helped out as well. Also check your connections at your MAF sensor. The pins are known to get dirty/come loose and the wires are known to frey/break under the little rubber boot thing. I had a similar issue with a customer's car and the MAF connections were the culprit...
