Hey guys,

I need some help geting a solid answer on guys running the Z32 300zx 5 speed tranny in an S13.

Everyone talks about adaptor plates and what not.

What I would like to know is it possible to put a shifter in the top of the tranny like Sr/ka/rb trannys. There is a black cover plate.

I dont have a z32 tranny infront of me and was hoping to find out before I pull the trigger.

Or do you use the stock shifter/ extension style shifter that the transmission comes with?

Bump... I did some research my self a while back. Idk what you mean by black cover plate lol, but what I'v found out is that YOU ARE ABLE TO USE THE STOCK SHIFTER but it feels really ugly, long and wide shift box. Really different from an SR/KA shift box. You can even go with Mazworx compleate kit and they provide the shifter that makes your tranny feel at home. OR! which ever kit you go with you can still use a Maxworx shifter.
This is W.I.T.I.K.(what I think I know). I'll leave it out there for others to correct me if I'm wrong.

no, you cannot use the 6 bolt flange shifter on the z32, you have to use the shifter yolk that sticks out the rear of the z32 tranny..

the shifting mechanism that is in the ka/sr tranny is not in the z32 tranny, so if you unbolt that 6 bolt pate on top, there is no where for that stock KA shifter to move gears..

if that makes sense.
