I know that the two engines have different bolt patterns on two cylinders but I'm ignorant. I have the opportunity to get a tubular rb26 mani and I want to put it on. Has anyone drilled it out to make it fit? or welded on a different flange? Any other ideas to make it fit?

Sometimes, some manifold have a universal flange where they have both bolt patterns. But I've seen people cut the flange off and weld on a different flange.

Yea I wish this had a universal flange but it doesn't.
take it to a welder or exhaust shop, it cant possibly be that hard to change the flange shape

Its not if you buy another flange. Catch is, they're not exactly easy to find nor are they cheap.
PS: Here's an example of one of those RB25/26 manifold that the flange is designed to bolt up to either engine.
