simply install stoppers?
or Brian Crower BC0200 BC Valve Springs / Retainer Kit SR20DET (http://www.frsport.com/Brian-Crower-BC0200-BC-Valve-Springs---Retainer-Kit-SR20DET_p_15564.html)
or any other suggestions

You could do SR20VET head, or solid lifter conversion. Or dual grooved shims.
Those brackets won't save you really. They are like a small band-aid.

Stoppers are the easiest, cheapest alternative. I view them more as worth their weight in gold given the price vs. the amount of ass-pain they help to insure against... however no single thing is fool-proof once one starts modding towards running higher boost & rpms.
On my last setup I did stoppers. This time, solid lifters; which obviously is more expensive, and I will have to measure/reshim every 10-15K mi. But I no longer need to worry about rocker float. Although it can still happen, chances of it are very slim given that I won't spend extended periods of time at high boost/rpm.
Along the lines of what he ^^ said, there are only "so many" things you can do. Pretty much anything you do will be a step in the right direction.

Stoppers and double rocker arm guides, basically use 2 U-shaped shims on each valves vs just 1.

from what i understand with rocker arm stoppers if it pops off there is more damge that can happen in the head, due to the fact that it can wedge itself in and keep the valve open. then WHAM comes the pistion. i have just heard of it however..

It doesnt matter, if it floats and pops off, your head is fucked either way. The stopper atleast attempts to keep the rocker from popping off the lifter. Its not a 100% insurance but it does help and worth the $60-80 investment.

for this dual groved shim setup is there anything that needs to be done to the head besides having the rockers machined so both sides fit groved shims?
