I have a 97 240sx with an S14 SR in it. It's bounced around between me and a friend for a few years .. I originally bought it from another friend in 2008 who paid a shop in NYC to do the motor swap. I've only recently touch any of the wiring (doing a tube front, stripped the engine bay harness, relocated fuse box).

I ordered an AEM Series2 and I've been checking over the engine harness while waiting for the ECU to come in. I haven't had any known problems with the car or motor .. it's ran pretty good for 50k~ miles.

I found this and I'm a bit confused about it, it's a black/yellow wire that I believe is Pin #18 according to here: http://www.s-chassis.com/resources/wiki/images/c/c7/ECUS14ZSR20DET.jpg

So the wire is cut before reaching the ECU, and that generic black wire you see goes here:

It merges with a few ground wires to the ground location at the passenger kick panel (where the ECU resides on LHD cars).

^some other ground wires (it seems) merge into it as well coming from either the cabin harness or the engine harness.

Is this a common thing for swapped cars? According to that chart, that wire is something to do with the Fuel Pump Relay

Ok so it's #18 black/yellow - fuel pump relay control signal, but why would this be grounded and not connected to my ECU?
