:bash:I recently just put an sr20det knotchback into my s13. The previous owner raped the wiring harness, so i bought a new one from wiring specialties. Now my problem is i am not getting power to my fuel pump. I know everything work because i just pulled this motor out of a hardbody after driving it for a week. Everything worked perfectly. I am getting spark, motor turns over perfectly fine and will start with starting fluid. Just got getting any fuel into the lines. All relays click and have tested them, triple checked my grounds, and connections. Fuel pump will come on when hotwired but does not stop priming. So what would cause this to have no power to my fuel pump? Something in the eccs?
I just want this damn thing done.

Sorry I can't help but my buddy had the same issue with his notchback in his coupe. I think they ended up just wiring the fuel pump separate. Good luck.

i wired the fuel pump into a switch and it primes, but still only cranks. Checked my injectors and i'm not getting any power. Checked all of my grounds once again, and the ignition switch, and all of the connections, fuses, ect. Could this be an ecu problem? I can't tell if the ecu comes on because whoever had this before me removed the light, and the reset switch on the ecu. I looked into the ecu and theres no signs of anything being fried, or anything. I checked the orange wire coming into the dash (starter switch?) on the brown connector and no power. I'm guessing somehow the ecu took a dump in between the swap?

i had the same problem with my s13 sohc chassis
but when i put the motor on my vert dohc chassis it worked fine ...
have you checked your fuel lines they might be backwards

I've been messing with it for about 2 weeks now, figured it was the harness, but aparently not. I've checked everything about 20 times lol
Did you not have any power to your injectors?
And i'm pretty sure i have them correct. Not 100% sure though. Correct me if i'm wrong, but i have the return line closest to the intake, and the filter farthest from the engine?
I'm going to feel like such a dumbass if that;s incorrect. I'm a newbie to this swap. lol

Make sure your Ecu matches your motorset. The company my buddy got his notch back from gave him the wrong Ecu. We swapped it with my notch back Ecu marked "na" which I'm pretty sure is the kouki Ecu and it worked properly. Just one other thing to check.

Checked up on the ecu, "wc", and did sone research and it's the right one for the motor set. Before pulling the motor out of a hardbody I had driven it daily for a week and it ran perfectly. So I'm going to guess it's either in the ECCS, or the ecu. I wish I knew someone who I could swap ecu's with to see if it worked or not lol that'd save alot of headache. Thank you though! I appreciate it!

i know that you need both the ecu and maf to match for it to run right ...
you need the wc ecu with the 69foo maf (zenki)

Checked the maf and it's the correct one. I checked to see if the eccs relays click when i turn the ignition "on" and they aren't. I checked the relays themselves with a paper clip and they good. Also the fuses in the eccs show they have power. I also noticed that when my ignition is "on" my speedometer shows 35 mph? lol

bur you said it turns on right? can you drive it ?

I meant when the ignition is on, sorry about that.
And no, the motor does not start, only cranks. The only way the motor runs is with starting fluid because the injectors are not getting any sort of power.

so no power to fuel pump nor injectors?
awilliwonka91
11-29-2012, 01:40 PM
Correct. I hotwired the fuel pump to a switch so it now primes. Just no power to the injectors.

their might be something wrong with your harness ..why dont you try the old 1

Well before i ordered a new harness i tried using the old one, and everything was wired correct, and i still had the same problem. lol So i thought it was just the harness possibly, so i ordered a new one and the same problem still consists.

I got it guys, i jumpered the fuel pump relay and switched the fuel lines, and she fired right up. I feel like an idiot that the lines were backwards, but it's common i guess lol
Wiring up the fuel pump to a toggle switch, and finishing up everything and she'll be on the road tomorro. Thanks everyone for helping this newbie out! Much apprecited!

Awesome! Glad to hear your shit is fixed!
Wire your pump into your ECU!!!!!!!! It's scary shit keeping it on a toggle switch for various safety reasons.

S14SR's dont have a LED or reset switch. Is your ecu plugged and bolted in securely? Do you have good grounds?
Edit, nvm just saw you switched lines. That would be the problem.
