ka24de motor problems need help....

Ok so i antempted to replace the head gasket on my ka my self i put everythin back together...had an buddy of mind to time it for me...know its back in my s13 and it runs but not good at all...now it starts up and revs up to 3 grand then drops to 1 grand...when i tryed to drive it, it hesitates and it wont go no faster then 20 mph...after i that i get out to the small of burning wires......an friend of mine says that the timing could be off is that true or is it possible that an bad wire on my harness could be cousing this problem????? someplease help...

Sounds like you may have not put your timing back to where it belongs. In the event you don't know how to do timing on a KA, you can always remove your front cover off the block and find my videos on youtube. Search Upper timing KA24DE and Lower Timing KA24de, you will find them.
