hello i have a s14 95 240sx rb20det i also have a autometer tach i was wanting to install, due to the fact the factory one isn't working. ok so i have read alot and was told to splice into the 7 pin yellow/red wire at the ecu with the green wire from the tach...well i did and got nothing, the tach resets to zero which is normal, but other than that nothing.so does anyone know of a different spot to tie the tach in or a different tach? i don't want my wife to over do it,lol also i need help wiring in the temp gauge i have the electronic one with i think 4 wires on the back of it. thanks Tim

the oem i30 and j30 tach will swap into your existing s13 cluster or fit a r32 cluster into the s13

U can run the green wire from your auto meter tach to the ground wire on the #1 coil. If its not working with u splicing directly into the tach wire off of the harness, then most likely u have a bad tach drive In the ecu.

Is your S14 tach dead? or it just doesn't read right? If it's not reading right you can adjust it on the back but you have to rig up a temp harness. You have to take the tach out give it power and adjust the potentiometer till it matches. If you have a AFC you can use that to check.

My bad, I missed the s14 part. I can't say for sure that the i30 or j30 would swap in the s14 cluster. I was using a cheap tach for a little while because my s13 had nothing for monitoring the RB. I was able to get signal from the Cam angle sensor by splicing the Green wire into it. I cant say how accurate it was didn't have a way to check it but it worked.
