So im going KA-T and starting to peice togeather my kit. Im going to have a t-25 setup on 7-9psi or so with a JWT bottom mount blah blah blah. Just a very conservative build im shooting for 250hp. I am just curious about weather or not i should pick up another ka? or just do an oem rebuild or what. My car has 225k miles on it but since my purchasing of the car 10 months ago was garage kept and daily driven by an old lady that is the orginal owner. She babied it from the factory.:bowrofl: It pulls HARD for its age and as long as compression is good idk if i should rebuild or not. Thoughts?
I also have a stack of paperwork from ALL maitenence ever done to the car it was beyond well kept, everything was done when it should have been to factory specs.

It pulls HARD
:picardfp:
Compression and leak down test. Decide from there what is most cost effective.

I think he's saying pulling hard doesn't mean shit.
1. Test it.
2. Quit fucking ragging on that pristine 240 you little bastard. Sell it to someone who'll appreciate it, and find someone's raped to death project to use instead. Otherwise do it right.

Someone needs to change their bloody tampon.
But to the OP, seriously? I mean seriously? Double you tee eff man. Google. It's your friend and ka-t.org is also your friend. Keith240 is right. And if you buy another ka it will most likely have been raped. I still fail to see why anyone would invest X amount of dollars to boost a car with 200,000+ miles though and cheap out instead of just rebuilding the motor so they can't bitch if/when it blows 1000 miles after boosting it.

to answer your question..turbo it and dont worry about it. if need be buy a lower mileage ka and swap it in a few hours. I went through 2 ka motors in my coupe before just building it. Its been turbo since 2005-2006 and this current motor has been in there since probably 2007. Its got pistons and rods. arp hardware and stock everything else

you seriously cant find the change to piece together a redtop? Figure $1500, it will probably have 90,000 miles or so, but that beats 225,000 right?

Arp studs, new bearings, rods, pistons, a new oil pump, and a new timing kit. youll have a fun car to start out with done and done. With machine work yeah it may cost more than an sr swap but you'll have a built motor. Ka-t.org is your friend. Research.
