SR tranny on a KA!

So, i'm buying a S14 of a friend, but he says it needs a new tranny, because the tranny on the car is a SR and grinds.... How is that possible? I've never seen a SR tranny on a car... Anyone know anything about that.. Would it mess anything up>

trannys are the same, bellhousing is whats different, as long as he has the right bellhousing it should bolt up

Its the same transmission more or less. Different bellhousings.

So if its bolted up and running that means it has the KA Bell housing? Or can someone Janky ass make it work? So does that mean its just the tranny that grinds???

Sorry for asking dumb questions. I'm buying a KA Tranny to put on it. I'm just wondering if i can drive it like that atleast till i get time to put it on?

Cannot be hooked up "janky ass" the holes dont line up.
If the other guy drives the car then you should be able to as well, just depends on whats grinding and if its even shifting into every gear.

transmission will work after bell housing swap.

gear ratio is different.
