EGR Tube and Air By-pass tube

I went to have my header installed and my mechanic after working on it a while,said that my EGR and Air By-pass tube won't come off,and he will have to cut off the stock OEM ones,and replace them,so hes been searching and I've been looking everywhere I could think of,and we finally found out that the only place to get them NEW is japan,and etc....so I need advice,this mechanic is very very trusted,and etc so I don't think hes bullshitting,but maybe I should take it to somebody else anyway?(some peopel can do what others can't) Or maybe I could pull the tubes off a car in a junkyard? Or find them on here from somebody?

EDIT:I have had very extensive back surgery,otherwise I'd try to put it on myself.... :(

Mine wouldn't come off either when I tried to remove it completely, so I put some Liquid Wrench on it and it came off no problem. Try that or get another one from the junkyard that easier to take off.
