Im trying to pull off the upper part of my oil pan on my s14, and i jacked up the engine, dropped the crossmember, unbolted the oil pan, but there is a lot of RTV holding the pan on. I tried hitting it with a rubber mallet, i pried a little with a screwdriver, scraped all the rtv off with a razor, and it wont budge. I know its a cast oil pan, so i am really scared of braking it, so i really dont wanna pry on it anymore.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how i can remove it without breaking it?
Thanks

Have you tried the 2 nuts that are on the back where the rear main seal is at?

Did you get the two that are bolted to the rear main seal bracket? They are hidden by the inspection plate on the rear of the upper oil pan. Please note, there are two threaded bungs on the rear of the pan, thread the correct sized bolts into it and it'll pull the upper oil pan from the block allowing you to pry the remaining pan from the front of the block. Before doing so, make sure all bolts/nuts are removed, otherwise you'll end up with a cracked pan.

There is a threaded bolt hole towards the transmission end of the pan, look for it, it's threaded all the way through and you put a 12mm bolt in there and start cranking down on it, it'll pop it loose and not crack it.

Are the threaded holes towards the outside of the pan?
Because i think i found them, but do i just have to go out and buy a bolt that fits? I was hoping the oil pan bolts would thread in and pull it out.

Yes, you'll recognize them once you see them. If you don't have a bolt laying around, then obviously youll have to get some.
