Hello.
I am looking at a few 240sx's at the moment. I did have a few questions.

The first one is a 1992 LE Fastback. 111,000 miles, $3400.
Does this come with the limited slip differential and ABS?
What kind of sunroof should this have? The one I looked at had a clear popup one. I was under the impression all LE's had an electric one. It has leather which is in nice condition, but it needs a new steering wheel. The rear spolier seemed kind of flimsy too, felt like fiberglass. Weather stripping looks worn too. And I don't think I could fit my little brother in the back. I give him rides to school. But I don't want one because of it's leg room

The second one is a 1995 SE coupe with 117,000 miles at $5400. I know this one has the electric sunroof.
Does this have the 53/47 weight distribution and good handling of the S13's?

Can anyone comment on these cars? What kinds of problems they have, etc? Thanks.
I look foward to talking with you guys.

The only way to tell if it has ABS & LSD is to actually physically look at the car. You can't tell from the model or even the Vin#. I believe they only came with Pop-up sunroofs. (could be wrong) The Factory Rear spoilers are all flimsy as they are Foam. not fiberglass which would actually be stronger.

You can fit him back there. I fit my roommate back there all the time. he 5'10" and 150 lbs. besides I think the Hatchback has more cargo space because of the hatch

I believe the weight distributions are almost the same. I hear the S14's are more refined feeling though.

Those both seem likle decent prices. Not great, but decent. It really comes down to which you like more when you drive them

i'd say pricewise thats a good price on the s14 but th eprice on the hatch isnt very good at all, you should be able to get one cheaper than that.

Is it possible to get a new spoiler that looks the same, but stronger? Or at least take the stock one off? I just freaked me out a bit and I just wanted to make sure the whole car was solid and not all like the spoiler!

there are plenty of aftermarket spoilers for it. not sure if there are any OEM replicas that are stronger though.

The S14s have a better weight distribution: they are 52 front and 48 rear, if I remember correctly. Stock handling and suspension definitely beat the S13. The car is also wider.

The pop-up sunroof in the S13s only came on hatch-backs, and it's true: it's just the pop-up. The Coupes had the moonroof that slid in and out.

The S13 should also definitely have ABS and LSD if it is the LE trim with leather. However, it should also be an automatic, I believe.

I think you should be able to shave off a couple more hundred off the S14, at least get it to $5000 total.

I have a fastback and me and my friends have gone 3 and even four into that car on occasion. all above 5'8" in height to. Just not something I would do on a very long journey though.

I've had 5 in my s14 it wasn't very comfortable though. I'd go for the s14 but I'm probably just saying that cauz thats what I have I'd try to get the price down a little bit more for either one of the cars. Look at it this way though, would you rather have an s14 or an s13 with $2k in mods? Like others said though, just drive them both (assuming they are close) and whichever you like more, buy. Good luck, let us know when you get it.
