well it was cracked around the rim. i didnt think anything off it because i tried to pull it off before and it didnt move. i guess from the heat and vibration it worked itself off.

Hmm I see a muffler on both pipes.
What's a muffler bypass? Emptied muffler?
Bj you meant just the tip of it came off on the freeway, not the whole thing, right? o_O I'd be pretty pissed if an entire catback hit whatever I was driving on the freeway. LOL

In the first pic it definitely doesn't look like the second pipe has a muffler, and the second pic it appears just to be a tip,not a muffler,....but I don't know, thats why I asked for more pics.
Muffler bypass is just as simple as it sounds....a pipe that allows your exhaust to bypass the muffler(as in,not go through the muffler, but through the bypass pipe)

Pretty sure that's a muffler missing the tip. You can see all that dampening stuff inside.

Ohhh neat. If that's the case then I'd stick a tomatoe in the bypass pipe and toggle to that pipe when someone's tailgating me. Unless it can't be switched while driving. O_o

Why does everybody seem to love these exhaust systems so much? If you look under the "reveiws" segment, most people said that the quality is low(or at least, lower than what you'd expect from Apex'I)and it sits too low....etc....and apparently the end caps/tips like to fall off too... :duh: :duh: :duh:

hahaha, I totally mistook his exhaust for the bypass JDM ones. (There are really exhaust that do that) It's just a N1 dual without the outer tip! hahaha, that sucks, that thing looks pretty new too. ...*note to self, don't buy an Apex exhaust*....

Thats a clean cut, lol, i thought you did that intentionally at first (before i read the rest of the thread). Cut the other off and call it a job.

hahaha, cause when I was "fixing the pic" I mirrored it, that's why Taniguchi's hand looks overgrown, and the exhaust is on the wrong side! hahahaha. I didn't even notice those things till now

I may not be quite on time with the JDM tyte scene, but I think that muffler bypass thing looks ugly and is pointless. A nice polished muffler is just sitting there and not doing anything? :wtf: I've seen a probe like that, it just had a muffler welded to the existing exhaust, not putting out any exhaust gases. If you dont want to run a muffler, just run a pipe without the muffler

I sheared off a hanger at the track. I guess it couldn't take the prolonged heat. I just took it to the local hobby shop and had it welded back on though for free ::no harm no foul::
My next exhaust will be much lighter thou. The massive weight I'm sure contributed to the hanger coming off.

I got the hks super silent exhaust. 75mm, full stainless, but very expensive. Something in the area of $700. I wanted the JIC stainless w/ Ti muffler, but it was on a major back order, oh well. I love HKS :yum:
