I know not everyone likes hondas, but i like tastefully built sleeper hondas. Last weekend I took my 240sx out for the first time since I bought it. Rocking bone stock everything. We have a hang out spot on Route 40 in Frederick MD where all the non-rice people go to talk and race, and have a good time. There is one honda EG6 with a well built b18c in it that I have alot of respect for. Mainly because he is a laid back guy and doesn't bullshit around when it comes to racing. That night a 90 5.0 stang pulled up on the turn around next to him and they raced. The EG6 beat him by 2 car lengths. The mustang owner was pissed off and asked my friend when he "sprayed". He responded by saying to the guy he never sprayed at all. And then challenged the mustang owner to this: I'll spot you three car lengths and beat you by six for 200 dollars, and this time I will spray. 5 minutes later my friend had 200 dollars in his wallet and one more V8 was slaughtered by a 4 cylinder. Not all hondas are rice.

B18c5 Type R With Jdm Type R Transmission, the engine itself is producing about 260 to the wheels, 100 shot of NOS. I dunno what it is with NOS.

wow thats why! I'm not big on honda simply b/c the crowd that drives them..."LOOK AT ME,I DRIVE A RACE HONDA! LOOK HOW FAST IT IS...." ...etc....but I do like the B18,esspecially when your talking abou a B18C5....so he just put nitrous on a bone stock engine,or do you know if he did anything else.....thats definitely a honda I'd rock :hsdance:

IIRC b18c5 = 200 hp

B18B=ls engine iirc

260 at the wheels with a C5? that has to be turbo. If not, that's a high strung high compression motor (b18c5's are already very high compression factory) Plus squeezing nitrous? I'm sorry, but if this story is true, that motor is not making 260 to the wheels. If it is doing that all motor, and plus squeezing nitrous? none of this makes sense to me. hahahaha. (BTW I've been building/racing Hondas since 96, just to let you know, so I'm not speaking out of my ass... at least this time ;).)

I can say to you this much about that engine, yes it is built, how much it's built I don't honestly know. However I will also say this, last year when he blew that engine up for the first time, the only other engine that amounted to the same quality which was in another EG6 Type body was a B16/B18 hybrid build that could barely keep up. But it's not so much the motor as it is the platform it's used on. Screw all other honda cars, the EG6 body style is the best platform for a engine build up. In Japan they are great in the Touge because they are light and quick. Its basically the size of a Geo Metro 2 door so sure it'll be fast with that much power.

Yeah B18c5's are a great motor with a great tranny..I don't know much about the characteristics of Nos. but i know a lot of people that have 200 hp to the wheels with ITR swaps and with nos i don't see why 250 or 260 is out of the question..Another nice lil honda that you can make quick is a crx..But i'd pick a hatch over a rex any day of the week. Good story..That's the best thing about having a 4 cylinder..The people's faces after you murder them. They all have the same confused look on their faces..:)

I can get the exact specs on that engine in about 2 days when I talk to him again for those actually interested, But the engine is unreal, and everyone thinks he sprays all the time but he doesn't. Its a ITR engine 1.8 but it may be 2.0 liters now.

high compression, NA tuning+nitrous = no no. 260 at the wheels? is there a dyno chart to verify? I've seen a lot of 180-220 at the wheel B series engines, but those are still high compression tunes.->11.0/1 and higher. Some even as high as 13.0/1

Banana Drifter
03-15-2004, 02:25 PM
11.5 to 1 Compression and yes 260 to the wheels big guy, my friend who knows him just talked to me on the specs.

260 at the wheels is a bit BS'y. id say more like 230-240 at best, and a horrible lack of torque as most hondas have (maybe 150ft/lbs at 6500rpm or so).

Not that I know enough about that car or Hondas in general, but isn't 260fwhp pushing the limits of traction? Especially on such a light car...wheelspin would be madness....but hey..i dunno...

I also think 260 is high...on the Honda forums I used to hang out at, 210-220 fwhp seemed to be pretty darn good already. B18C5 makes around 160hp at the wheels bone stock....another 100 through N/a tuning , then like other said slapping 100shot NOS on it...

i have a friend with a 92 hatchback making 583 to the wheels :eek2: but he only drives it on slicks at the track now. he took it on the highway one night on his 16x7 rotas and they started to spin hard in a 4th gear roll on at 70mph :wavey:

you guys completely went off what the topic was. It was about a NA B18C5 making 260 at the wheels. NOT a H series, or turbocharged motor. I've got plenty of friends making 300+ hp on Turbocharged B16, B18B engines. Nowadays, that shit comes in kits. NA HP in that range is a lot harder.

You guys were saying that 260 WHP on an all motor ITR Integra motor was out of the question.

I just have to put in my 2 cents.

I have a bone stock 97 civic hatch with its stock D16Y7 motor rated at 106 HP (thats rated at the flywheel of course!)

All I have done to the thing is put in ZC Pistons from a JDM CRX Si Motor and now I have 12 to 1 compression...went to get it dynoed 3 weeks ago and got 128whp.
I don't know how much whp my motor had before but 128 seems to be a huge gain for me...at least 30hp.

BUT~~~

The ITR motor has 11.5 to 1 compression stock anyways so how he has 260 hp I don't know unless he has all the basic bolt-ons with an upgraded ECU...fuel management...ignition etc....Well even then thats questionable...

I don't doubt it though!

This is a dyno chart from Erik's Racing. You know, the all motor Honda people who was first to hit 9's naturally aspirated. The package to accomplish this is $6500. These guys have the know how, and with their package you get somewhere between 260-270 at the wheels. But, also look closely at the dyno chart and think about the streetability. Their own race car puts out a tad over 300.

I don't know how that car is pushing 260 at the wheels, unless your friend is a well versed Honda mechanic/tuner with years of tuning. Plus, just because it's a JDM Type R motor does not mean it's the holy grail of Honda motors.

i dont doubt the guy having 260fwhp NA..

GSRs use to have trouble getting 200fwhp..but now its easly done

but with 260fwhp on a C5..thats gotta be 2.0L 13:1+ compression and many more toys r us goodies

it can be done tho. so i dont doubt the guy
